Assays from the fifth prospect drilled this year, called The Hut, showed high-grade gold-cobalt results, the firm revealed.

One hole hit multiple gold-cobalt intersections from between the surface and 280 metres depth. Highlights included 3 metres (m) at a grade of 7.6 grams per ton (g/t) gold equivalent (AuEq), 6.4 g/t gold and 722 parts per million 9ppm) cobalt from 138.4 metres.

"Strong gold-cobalt drill intercepts from our fifth prospect drilled this year indicate the significant upside that exists beyond known resource areas at Rajapalot," Michael Hudson, chairman and CEO at Mawson told investors in a statement Thursday.

"Recent drilling focused on testing around resource areas at Palokas, South Palokas and Raja. However, the multiple mineralization intercepts and untested electromagnetic conductors at the sparsely drilled The Hut prospect suggests an important area for resource growth in future drill campaigns," he added.

The new results come after, earlier this month, Mawson reported positive drilling from the Raja prospect, which continued to extend mineralization beyond the current resource boundary.

The high-grade gold assays, combined with strong silicate and sulphide alteration, multiple electromagnetic conductors and large vertical extent of mineralized intervals mean The Hut is an important target for future drill campaigns, Mawson noted.

Potential for extensive gold, cobalt

Of particular interest at The Hut is the potential for vertically extensive gold-cobalt mineralization, it added.

Another notable assay reported in one hole was two metres at 1.8 g/t gold equivalent, 1.5 g/t gold, 208 ppm cobalt from 87.9 metres.

Also in today's statement, the firm said it had extended its exploration claims by staking a 14,364 hectare reservation to the immediate north of its existing 15,527 hectares of exploration permits and permit applications.

The new claim targets extensive sequences of conductive graphite-bearing rocks that extend for 75 km of strike within the claim reservation area, said Mawson.

The groyup added that its focus remains on expanding its gold and cobalt resources, however the new graphite targets have the potential to open a region of graphite mineralization within Finland.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources extends high-grade gold and cobalt mineralization at Rajapalot project in Finland ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/223218/mawson-resources-extends-high-grade-gold-and-cobalt-mineralization-at-rajapalot-project-in-finland-223218.html Mawson Resources Limited (TSE:MAW) (OTCMKTS:MWSNF) hit further high-grade gold and cobalt mineralization at its Rajapalot project, the company announced Tuesday.

Drilling results from the Raja prospect continued to extend mineralization beyond the current resource boundaries, with further continuous and thick high-grade gold-cobalt showings, according to Mawson.

A key highlight from the current round of drilling included one hole, PAL0191, that extended the core zone by 70 metres to a total length of 320 metres. The total length of mineralization at Raja is 600 metres down plunge.

PAL0191 intersected 21 metres at 4 grams per ton (g/t) gold equivalent, 3.2 g/t gold and 481 parts per million cobalt from 417 metres, including 9 metres at 7.2 g/t gold equivalent, 6.2 g/t gold and 647 ppm cobalt from 421 metres.

The drill hole is the deepest high-grade drill hole reported from Raja to date, the company said in a statement.

"Raja continues to expand with further thick high-grade gold-cobalt intersections that show impressive continuity for 320 metres down plunge with the trend remaining open," said Mawson CEO Michael Hudson.

"Our ability to consistently hit high-grade mineralization at Raja provides compelling evidence for the strength of the Rajapalot mineral system, and augers well for further discoveries within Raja and the other projects that we have defined within the larger project area."

The new drill result follows a series of positive holes from the Rajapalot project in Finland, including the PAL0190 hole that reported 19.7 metres at 8.9 g/t gold equivalent, 7.4 g/t gold and 908 ppm cobalt from 371 metres that was reported in May.

Mawson has completed over 15,000 metres of drilling over 44 holes during the winter 2019 drill deason. The company expects to release assay results from seven remaining holes from other prospects in the coming weeks.

Shares in Mawson added nearly 6% to stand at C$0.18 in Toronto

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources extends South Palokas prospect at Finnish gold cobalt property ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/222059/mawson-resources-extends-south-palokas-prospect-at-finnish-gold-cobalt-property-222059.html Mawson Resources Limited (TSE:MAW) (OTCMKTS:MWSNF) has posted more encouraging drill results from its flagship gold-cobalt Rajapalot project in Finland, which have expanded the South Palokas prospect.

The firm completed 44 holes during the winter season and Thursday's results are from five. Assays from nine holes are still pending.

South Palokas is growing and improving at depth with four of five holes completed this winter at South Palokas ranked in the top seven intersections for the prospect, Mawson noted.

The target now has over 170 metres of strike, is 30 metres wide and has been tested to 340 metres down plunge.

Highlight assays reported Thursday included 32 metres at 3.9 g/t (gram per ton) gold equivalent, with 1.4 g/t gold and 1,556 ppm (parts per million) cobalt from 294.3m.

Another hole hit 9.8 metres at 6.1 g/t (grams per ton) gold equivalent.

"Drill results reported over the last few months from Rajapalot have substantially upgraded the project potential, with numerous higher-grade hits and gold-cobalt mineralization discovered in significant step outs across multiple prospect areas," said CEO Michael Hudson.

He noted that at South Palokas three of five new holes with large step outs returned more than 50 g/t - metres gold equivalent, while the deepest hole returned the best result in the prospect of 32.0 metres at 3.9 g/t gold equivalent metres.

Open at depth and strike

"Mineralization at all prospects remain open at depth and across strike," he added.

The Palokas and South Palokas deposits share the same kind of geological relationships, but are hosted by somewhat different rock types, the firm said.

Mawson said that further drilling on the high grade trend at South Palokas and Palokas was needed, but that similarities to the firm's Raja prospect, located at surface 1.4 km south south east of the Palokas prospect, were "immediately evident."

The Rajapalot maiden resource positioned the site as one of Finland's current top three gold resources by grade and contained ounces and one of a small group of cobalt resources.

Mawson shares in Toronto were unchanged at $0.18.

Mawson completed 44 holes during the 2019 winter drill season and full assays from 14 holes are still pending.

READ: Mawson Resources adds more high-grade gold and cobalt results from Finnish project

Highlights from Monday's reported assays included a hole (PAL0194) that showed 15.2 metres at 8.5 g/t (grams per ton) gold equivalent, 4.3 g/t gold and 2,566 ppm (parts per million) cobalt (Co) from 418.7 metres.

This hole was drilled 275 metres down-plunge from the high-grade gold-cobalt mineralization previously announced at Palokas.

"The 2019 drill program is now delivering across multiple prospects," said Michael Hudson, chairman and CEO at Mawson. "This is an extremely strong result, tripling Palokas' high grade potential with PAL0194 intersecting 15.2 metres @ 8.5 g/t AuEq from a 275 metre step out below high-grade mineralization."

Hudson also highlighted that the Palokas high-grade zone remained open up and down-plunge of the PAL0194 hole and to the north of the conductive trend.

High cobalt content

Also noteworthy, the resource group said Monday, was the high cobalt content in PAL0194 compared to other holes on the property, with the highest grade interval showing 1 metre at 23.6 g/t (grams per ton) gold and 1.5% cobalt.

Further drilling on the high grade trend at Palokas is required, but similarities to the linear trend at Raja prospect, 1.4 kilometres SSE (south south east) of the Palokas prospect, are clear, said Mawson.

The Rajapalot maiden resource positioned the site as one of Finland's current top three gold resources by grade and contained ounces and one of a small group of cobalt resources.

Shares were unchanged in Toronto at $0.19.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources adds more high-grade gold and cobalt results from Finnish project ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/221051/mawson-resources-adds-more-high-grade-gold-and-cobalt-results-from-finnish-project-221051.html Mawson Resources Limited (TSE:MAW) (OTCMKTS:MWSNF) is increasing its cache of high-grade gold results from its Rajapalot project in Finland.

On Tuesday the Vancouver-based company announced new drill results from five holes, including one drill section that intersected 19.7 metres at 8.9 grams per ton (g/t) gold equivalent and 908 parts per million (ppm) cobalt. The result confirmed a 250 metre stretch of high-grade gold-cobalt mineralization that remains open at depth.

The drill hole, PAL0190, is the deepest high-grade drill hole reported from the project to date, Mawson said in a statement, providing confidence in the company’s ability to target high grade mineralization.

READ: Mawson Resources unveils new drill discovery at Finnish gold-cobalt project

"The winter drilling has delivered further strong results from Raja with 19.7 metres at 8.9 g/t gold equivalent intersected by PAL0190 within a high core" said Michael Hudson, Chairman and CEO of Mawson. "Most significant is the predictability and continuity of the cigar-shaped high-grade core that is now 30-50 metres wide and 20-30 metres thick that has now been traced over 250 metres down plunge and remains open at depth. This a significant advancement in understanding of the mineralized system by our geological team, which will deliver benefits in future targeting during on-going exploration programs."

Results from the other four holes included one hole that intersected 5 metres a 3.7 g/t gold equivalent, 2.7 g/t gold and 581 ppm cobalt from 200 metres, and 4.3 metres at 3.8 g/t gold equivalent, 2.3 g/t gold and 931 ppm cobalt from 210 metres.

Another drill hole near PAL0190 intersected 1.4 metres at 2.3 g/t gold equivalent, 0.1 g/t gold, 1,345 ppm cobalt from 400.4 metres.

The new results come as part of a 44-hole winter drill program. Sixteen holes with full assay results are yet to be reported.

Drilling highlighted a shallow gold-cobalt mineralization at the Rumajärvi prospect on the project, including one intercept of 7.4 metres at 4.4 grams per ton gold equivalent and 597 parts per million cobalt from around 86 metres.

The Vancouver-based company recently completed 44 drill holes, or around 15,000 metres, as part of its winter drill season designed to test the boundaries of the mineral resource at the Raja, Palokas and South Palokas prospects and earlier-stage prospects on the property.

READ: Mawson Resources releases further encouraging drill results from its flagship Rajapalot project

"Our exploration success at Rumajärvi provides encouragement of continued growth of the Rajapalot mineral system," said Michael Hudson, Mawson’s CEO said in a statement. "The discovery of these new gold-cobalt zones at Rumajärvi clearly demonstrate the potential to increase Rajapalot's gold-cobalt resources.”

Rajapalot is a significant and strategic growing gold-cobalt resource already positioned as one of Finland's top three gold resources by grade and contained ounces and one of a small group of cobalt resources in Europe prepared in accordance with NI 43-101 policy, according to Hudson.

The junior exploration company has an additional 23 holes to report from the winter drill program.

Mawson recently reported new drill results from the Raja prospect, where one hole intersected 31.3 metres at 6 grams per ton (g/t) gold equivalent and 1,030 parts per million (ppm) cobalt from 298.6 metres.

A second hole intersected 2.9 metres at nearly 6,600 ppm cobalt from nearly 417 metres, the highest-grade cobalt intersection without gold drilled to date.

Two additional holes that had previously been drilled for gold only intersected promising gold and cobalt showings.

Shares of Mawson most recently traded at C$0.18 in Toronto and US$0.14 on OTC markets.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources seeing results as it bids to expand flagship resource in mining hotspot Finland ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/219505/mawson-resources-seeing-results-as-it-bids-to-expand-flagship-resource-in-mining-hotspot-finland-219505.html Mining group Mawson (TSE:MAW) was incorporated in 2004 and the flagship property is the Rompas project in Finnish Lapland, a few kilometers south of the arctic circle, where both high-grade gold and cobalt have been discovered over a camp-scale area of more than 10 sq km.

A milestone was reached in December last year, when the company announced a maiden inferred (lower confidence) gold-cobalt estimate for the Raja and Palokas prospects.

The pit and underground constrained inferred resource was put at 424,000 ounces of gold at 3.1 grams/ton gold equivalent, while the combined inferred mineral inventory in the Palokas and Raja prospects was 482,000 ounces of gold equivalent at a grade of 2.4 g/t.

According to the company, the unconstrained maiden inventory puts Rajapalot as one of Finland’s current top three gold projects by grade and contained ounces. It is also one of only a small group of NI 43 101 cobalt resources. Currently, Mawson is focused on increasing gold and cobalt resources at Rajapalot.

It is worth noting that Finland refines half the world’s cobalt outside China, while the globe's largest cobalt refinery lies 400km to the south of Rajapalot.

Finland becoming mining hotspot

Agnico Eagle's (NYSE:AEM) Kittila mine in the country is the largest primary gold producer in Europe and just north of Mawson's ground and there are several other firms exploring in the area.

Kittila has a mine-life estimated through to 2035 and has proven and probable mineral reserves of 4.4 million ounces gold (31 million tonnes at 4.50 g/t gold) as of December 31, 2018.

The country jumped to the Number One spot in the Fraser Institute’s 2017 ranking of investment attractiveness for mining jurisdictions, up from fifth in 2016.

How's Mawson doing?

The firm has recently completed a €3 million 15,000 meter expansion drill program, from which it hopes to double the resource, according to the CEO.

Fourteen diamond drill holes have already been reported (with 28 holes still to come in forthcoming months), and the results so far look promising.

The company reported 31.3 metres at 6 g/t (gram per ton) gold equivalent at the Raja prospect. The same hole encountered 1,030 parts per million (ppm) cobalt from 298.6 meters. A second hole hit 2.9 metres at nearly 6,600 ppm cobalt from nearly 417 metres, the highest-grade cobalt intersection without gold drilled to date.

The winter drill program is focused on expanding gold and cobalt resources at the Raja and South Palokas prospects, and testing less drilled prospect areas including Terry's Hammer and Rumajärvi.

What the CEO said:

Speaking to Proactive ahead of the start of drilling in January this year, Michael Hudson noted this was a substantial drill program: "There's not many drill programs like that going in the ground at the moment," he said.

"We are testing along strike and down -dip from these resources so it's a lower risk program. We've gone through the science experiment of trying to find the gold and where is it and now the project's pivoted to this resource expansion."

At the Raja prospect, one hole intersected 31.3 metres at 6 grams per ton (g/t) gold equivalent and 1,030 parts per million (ppm) cobalt from 298.6 metres.

A second hole intersected 2.9 metres at nearly 6,600 ppm cobalt from nearly 417 metres, the highest-grade cobalt intersection without gold drilled to date.

Two additional holes that had previously been drilled for gold only intersected promising gold and cobalt showings.

"The great drill result from Raja of 31.3 metres @ 6.0 g/t AuEq, demonstrates a linear control on the highest-grade parts of the Raja system, which will allow more accurate down plunge drill targeting beyond the extent of current high-grade gold-cobalt resources,” said Michael Hudson, chairman and CEO at Mawson. “We achieved the aims of our winter drill program by exceeding 15 kilometres in 44 holes.”

Permit resolution

The junior miner also reported that its permit enforcement has gained positive resolution, which allows Mawson to drill from 200 drill platforms (from 529 optional sites) plus 76 existing drill platforms within the nearly 1,500 hectare Kairamaat permit area next drill season.

The resolution of the drill permit allows the company to plan well in advance for the next drill campaigns, CEO Hudson said in a statement.

“Mawson continues to work closely with all Finnish mining and environmental authorities, as well as all local stakeholders, to ensure our work programs are implemented in a safe, efficient and environmentally friendly way as we drill to grow our gold-cobalt maiden resource,” said Hudson.

Winter drill program progressing

Previous results from the South Palokas prospect on the Rajapalot project showed one hole intersected 17 metres at 3 g/t gold from 264 metres, including 5 metres at 4.9 g/t gold from 264 metres.

The winter drill program is focused on expanding gold and cobalt resources at the Raja and South Palokas prospects, and testing less drilled prospect areas including Terry's Hammer and Rumajärvi.

Mawson shares were trading at C$0.21 in Toronto and US$0.15 in the US at Monday’s close.

At the South Palokas prospect, a hole intersected 17 metres at 3 g/t (grams per ton) gold from 264 metres, including 5 metres at 4.9 g/t gold from 264 metres and 5 metres at 4.6 g/t of the yellow metal from 276 metres.

At the Raja prospect, another hole hit 4 metres at 2.9 g/t gold from 345 metres and hanother holes intersected 3 metres at a grade of 2.3 g/t gold from 434 metres and 3.5 metres at 2.4 g/t from 452 metres.

The winter drill program is focused on expanding gold and cobalt resources at the Raja and South Palokas prospects, and testing less drilled prospect areas including Terry's Hammer and Rumajärvi, the company said in the Monday statement.

Drilling with four rigs continues with additional TEM (electromagnetics) to be conducted over the Rumajärvi area commencing in the next week, added Mawson.

"This is a solid start to our winter drilling with down-plunge extensions of mineralization defined at both the South Palokas and Raja resource areas," said Michael Hudson, Chairman and CEO at Mawson.

"These drill hits targeted TEM conductors, giving strong encouragement that new conductors at Palokas and South Palokas, will be associated with further mineralization."

New ground electromagnetic (TEM) surveys at both Palokas and South Palokas have defined plunging conductors with the same dimensions as the Raja prospect conductor below the resource areas.

Both the deeper extension of the conductors at Palokas and South Palokas are undrilled and will be the focus of future drilling.

Mawson shares eased around 2% Wednesday to $0.22 each.

The resource group is looking at a potential transaction for the property so it can focus on its flagship gold project in Finland where four rigs are now drilling.

Vancouver-based Mawson said that four holes (one abandoned) were completed at Western USA for 1,033 metres at the Scorpion intermediate-sulphidation and Huckleberry high-sulphidation projects.

READ: Mawson Resources shares advance as it awaits first assays from Rajapalot drill program next month

Best results hailed from the first and only hole at Scorpion which returned 0.6 metres at 3.25 g/t (grams per ton) gold, 27.3 g/t silver, 6680 ppm arsenic, 485 ppm (parts per million) antimony and 2.8 ppm tellurium from 21.3 metres.

At Huckleberry, a hole hit 15.2 metres at 16.5ppm tellerium, 0.34 g/t silver, 1038 ppm arsenic, 96.4 ppm antimony and from 56.4 metres.

"The first drill program drilling at the WUSA project confirmed a drill discovery and highlighted the prospectivity of Scorpion where highly altered and sulphidic rocks are associated with gold anomalous soils that extend over a 2.2 km long by up to 400-metre-wide area," said Mike Hudson, chairman and CEO at Mawson.

"As only one hole has ever been drilled, the elevated results and extensive soil anomaly at Scorpion warrant follow-up."

Drill permits

Drill permits at the Western USA project are in place for a more extensive drill program.

WUSA lies in the central Western Cascade Ranges in Oregon and consists of an area of interest of 150,500 hectares (exploration agreement area), of which 68,075 hectares of mineral and land rights are held by a single landholder.

Within the exploration agreement area are smaller areas of mineral rights, including the BLM claims held directly by Mawson (142.2 hectares).

Fourteen holes for 5,040 metres were completed in the first month and the focus is on the Raja, South Palokas and Palokas prospects, the Vancouver-based company said in a statement.

"Four rigs continue to target EM extensions below and along strike from the maiden resource area," said Michael Hudson, the chairman and CEO at Mawson.

The firm recently gained a new exploration permit which provides a three-year runway for drilling from 200 new drill platforms, which Hudson says is a 'game changer' for Mawson.

"We have dealt with the Finnish appeal system for each drill program over the long term, and we are very happy to have reached agreement with all environmental authorities on how exploration in the area should be conducted over the next 3 years. In combination with the wonderful support from local communities, we can now continue exploring without further delays," he said.

The 1,462-hectare Kairamaat 2/3 exploration permit allows Mawson to drill from 200 drill platforms (from 529 optional sites) plus 76 existing drill platforms for a further three years.

Shares in Toronto advanced 8.7% to stand at $0.25.

It said the permit defines exploration methods that can be undertaken within Natura 2000 areas, including but not limited to diamond drilling, a base of till drilling and geophysics.

Mawson said four drill rigs are to be mobilized to site within a week, to focus on expanding the maiden gold-cobalt resource for the Rajapalot project announced on 17 December 2018.

It pointed out that the Raja prospects will be the initial focus of the 15,000-metre drill program, with approximately 70 people to be employed to execute the approximate US$3 million program once work commences.

Michael Hudson, the company’s chairman & CEO commented: “Mawson has worked closely with all Finnish mining and environmental authorities, as well as all local stakeholders, to ensure our work programs are implemented in a safe, efficient and environmentally friendly way, to avoid impacts within biodiversity areas.”

He added: “For the past decade, Mawson has been a safe and sustainable investor and mineral explorer in the Ylitornio region. With the recent publication of a gold-cobalt resource at Rajapalot, the Company looks forward to an exciting 2019 with drill rigs once again ready to start for our resource expansion drill programs."

In addition, Mawson also announced that it will be holding a public forum at the Ylitornio Municipal Hall on 28 January to celebrate the recently published maiden resource and the commencement of the 2019 winter drill program.

It said many staff, including the company's CEO and its Environmental Director, will be in attendance to address all questions regarding the Rajapalot project, work programs and the company.

In December last year, the firm unveiled a maiden inferred gold-cobalt estimate for its Raja and Palokas prospects at Mawson' Rajapalot Project in Finland.

READ: Mawson Resources announces maiden inferred gold-cobalt estimate at Finland project

Combined inferred estimate for both prospects was 482,000 ounces of gold equivalent at a grade of 2.4 g/t.

In today’s press release, Vancouver-based Mawson said a recently completed electromagnetic geophysical survey had outlined a strongly conductive body immediately down plunge from the South Palokas gold-cobalt resource.

"Electromagnetic geophysical surveys have defined an undrilled conductive body, extending more than 200 metres down-plunge from high grade gold intersections at South Palokas," said Michael Hudson, chairman and CEO at Mawson.

"Similar success was achieved with TEM at Raja, where a conductive body was discovered for 550 metres below the resource.

"Geophysical surveying is ongoing at Rajapalot, in preparation for an exciting 15,000 metre winter drill campaign focused on resource expansion, scheduled to start in January 2019 (subject to final permits)."

Hudson added: "With the recent publication of a gold-cobalt resource at Rajapalot, the company has never been better positioned to define a project that can contribute positively to the economic well-being of the communities of Lapland, while providing the opportunity for a conflict-free cobalt supply for the Finnish State and European Union."

He said the group was looking forward to an exciting 2019.

Mawson is gearing up to test the South Palokas and Raja conductive bodies, along with other extensions to gold-cobalt resources, earmarked to begin later this month.

A 15,000 metre, five drill rig program is proposed, with contracts in place with three drilling companies.

Around 70 people will be employed on the program once work commences, it added.

The company said in a statement the test results establish Rajapalot as a significant and strategic gold-cobalt resource for the country.

"The Rajapalot gold-cobalt Inferred Mineral Resource estimate is a great start and an important milestone for both Mawson and Finland," said Robert Hudson, chairman and CEO of the company.

"The resource calculation demonstrates the robustness and high-grade of gold-cobalt mineralization, and highlights the potential for substantial resource expansion," he added.

BIG PICTURE: Mawson Resources excited about new potential gold frontier as it options Oregon project

Resource estimations at Rajapalot have been completed for the Raja and Palokas prospects. The two prospects lie approximately 2 kilometers apart within the same geological trend.

A pit and underground constrained inferred mineral resource of 424,000 ounces of gold at 3.1 grams/ton gold equivalent, Mawson said.

The combined inferred mineral inventory in the Palokas and Raja prospects of 482,000 ounces of gold equivalent at a grade of 2.4 g/t.

The constrained resource demonstrates the high-grade of Rajapalot, according to the company.

The resource has substantial potential to grow, with only 20% (800 meters) of the 4-kilometer known-mineralized trend included within the maiden resource to relatively shallow depths.

Finland refines half the world's cobalt outside China. The world's largest cobalt refinery is located 400 kilometers south of Rajapalot.

Mawson Resources is a resource company involved in the acquisition, exploration, and evaluation of precious metal interests in the Nordic countries.

Assays from four holes at the company's Western USA (WUSA) gold project in Oregon will be released early in the new year.

READ: Mawson Resources says survey has doubled scope of potential Raja target in Finland

Wide zones of silica, argillic and sulphidic alteration were intersected at the Scorpion intermediate-sulphidation and Huckleberry high-sulphidation areas, Mawson said.

“Such strong alteration is encouraging in these new systems,” said chairman Michael Hudson.

In Finland, the autumn drill program resulted in 11 holes for 1,660 metres, targeting the Hirvimaa and Korkiakoivikko prospects.

The two are 2.6km and 4.3km respectively from a high-grade gold-cobalt mineralization drilled at Rajapalot, which will be the focus of a 15,000-metre winter program.

The recently-completed Finland drilling tested base-of-till geochemical and geophysical anomalies as potential extensions to known mineralization.

Mawson said the host stratigraphic horizon was intersected in three holes with a best result of two metres at 1,078 parts per million of cobalt from 111.3 metres beneath the surface.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources says survey has doubled scope of potential Raja target in Finland ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/209949/mawson-resources-says-survey-has-doubled-scope-of-potential-raja-target-in-finland-209949.html Mawson Resources Ltd (TSE:MAW) posted electromagnetic survey results from its Raja prospect - part of the Rompas-Rajapalot gold-cobalt project in Finland - which has doubled the size of the potential target associated with the mineralization there.

Surveying completed so far has discovered a strongly conductive body to the north of Raja, that corresponds closely with known mineralized drill intercepts, including one of 8 g/t (grams per ton) gold, 823 ppm (parts per million) cobalt from 243.0 metres, and extends 550 metres down plunge beyond the drilled area, the company said.

READ: Mawson Resources excited about new potential gold frontier as it options Oregon project

This conducive body more than doubles the Raja mineralization footprint to more than 1 kilometre and remains open down plunge, the company said.

"Gold-cobalt mineralized zones at Rajapalot form excellent conductive targets which allows us to geophysically identify potentially mineralized areas at depth and increase the confidence of our drill targeting," said Michael Hudson, the chairman and chief executive at Mawson.

"A key result to date is the doubling of the conductive body associated with Raja mineralization, delivering an untested target with more than 500 metres down-plunge extent from high grade gold intersections.

"Geophysical surveying is ongoing along the 3.5 kilometre Rajapalot mineralized trend, in preparation for an exciting 15,000 metre winter drill campaign, scheduled to start in January 2019 (subject to final permits)."

Earlier this month, the group said it was optioning an exciting gold project, which has sat behind 'locked gates' for the last 150 years in mainland USA.

The WUSA project in Oregon spanning 150,000 hectares is highly prospective for high and low sulphidation epithermal gold systems.

Due to long-term ownership by a single private landholder, it has remained largely unexplored, and the firm has the right to explore the project initially for three years.

It must spend US$500,000 of in-the-ground expenditures and lease payments of US$100,000 in the first year before electing to continue any further.

Mawson also noted that it will still focus on the flagship Rompas-Rajapalot gold-cobalt project in Finland, where it is poised for a winter drilling program.

The WUSA project in Oregon spanning 150,000 hectares is highly prospective for high and low sulphidation epithermal gold systems.

Due to long term ownership by a single private landholder, it has remained largely unexplored, and the firm has the right to explore the project initially for three years.

It must spend US$500,000 of in-the-ground expenditures and lease payments of US$100,000 in the first year before electing to continue any further.

Mawson noted that it will still focus on the flagship Rompas-Rajapalot gold-cobalt project in Finland, where it is poised for a winter drilling program.

"Mawson is always on the look-out for high quality projects in attractive jurisdictions that complement our exploration in Finland," said Michael Hudson, chief executive.

"The WUSA project is certainly one of these projects, presenting a unique opportunity to explore one of the largest contiguous gold-prospective areas in mainland USA.

"The project has escaped significant modern exploration as it has sat behind locked gates for the last 150 years, and now delivers Mawson a new epithermal exploration frontier in a first world country.

"Should significant gold be found in the upcoming drill program, we will review the opportunities for a joint venture, strategic alliance, or corporate transaction to create optionality and further value for shareholders."

Work so far by Mawson on the WUSA project in Lane and Douglas counties, Oregon, has included mapping, soil sampling and ground magnetic geophysical surveying.

A reconnaissance 2,000 metre diamond drill program has just begun at the Huckleberry and Scorpion prospects. There is also the Walker Creek prospect, which has been earmarked for immediate follow-up.

Of the three prospect areaa, Walker is the only one which has been previously drill tested, and 10 vertical RC (reverse circulation) holes have hit anomalous gold over significant intervals.

Shares added 3.33% to $0.31 in Toronto.

The 2,500m program consists of two prospects, which are to be tested at Rajapalot - the Korkiakoivikko and Hirvimaa prospects.

Targets here lie around one to three km northeast and south of the Raja and Palokas prospects.

"We are excited to have our Q4 drill program under way, after a drill hiatus to compile data from our recent and successful 16-kilometre winter drill program," said Michael Hudson, the chief executive of Mawson, said on Thursday.

"Multielement BOT geochemical anomalies associated with the multiparameter geophysical anomalies provide compelling drill targets for this program.

"The Korkiakoivikko and Hirvimaa areas are permitted for year-round drill access. We anticipate further drilling will be undertaken during our winter drill campaign planned from late December onwards."

Also in today's statement, geophysical programs are continuing at the Hirvimaa, Raja, Rumajarvi and Palokas prospect areas, which includes downhole electromagnetics (EM), fixed-loop EM, mise-a-la-masse and induced polarization methods.

These geophysical surveys are designed to discover new mineralized bodies and the extensions to known gold.

The firm has also begun metallurgical test work and is in the process of attaining a maiden resource for the property, it said.

READ: Mawson Resources eyeing new drilling next month at Rajapalot

Today's results hail from 43 diamond drill holes across six prospect areas, and notably, the addition of cobalt values to previously reported gold intersections continues to provide significant improvements when compared with gold-only intersections, especially at the Raja and Palokas prospects.

Highlight results (from Palokas) include 33 metres (m) at 4.2 g/t (grams per ton) AuEq (gold equivalent), 3.1 g/t gold, 547 parts per million (ppm) cobalt from 38.7 metres.

At the Raja prospect, uncovered was 20.7 metres at 5.6 g/t (grams per ton) gold-equivalent, 3.6 g/t gold, 956 ppm cobalt from 365.2 metres in one hole.

"With the growing recognition of the significance of cobalt within the gold-mineralized zones, Rajapalot is quickly progressing from discovery to a more advanced stage with resource and metallurgical test work studies now commencing," said Michael Hudson, chairman and chief executive.

"This is an exciting milestone for the project as a large new mineral camp emerges.

"It is an excellent outcome for Finland, with potential for a significant and strategic cobalt deposit just 400 kilometres from the world's single largest cobalt refinery at Kokkola, which produces 50 per cent of global non-Chinese production (10 per cent of total production)."

Global cobalt supply chain

Finland plays an important role in the global cobalt supply chain. The Democratic Republic (DRC) of the Congo produced 54% of the world's cobalt in 2016, and 80% of the cobalt used in lithium-ion batteries is refined in China.

Half of the world's non-Chinese production (10%) comes from the joint venture Freeport Cobalt, the world's single-largest cobalt refinery, which lies just 400 km from Mawson's Rajapalot project in Kokkola, Finland.

A significant amount of feedstock for Freeport Cobalt comes via a long-term supply agreement with Chinese-owned Tenke Fungurume mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

So, a future domestic Finnish source of cobalt from Rajapalot would satisfy the recent announcements by Finland and Sweden that the countries will work together on a traceable ledger for sustainable minerals, which are considered crucial for achieving climate goals, noted Mawson.

Shares added 2.04% in Toronto to stand at C$0.25.

In the last six weeks, contractors have completed a 103 line km ground magnetic survey on 25 metre spaced lines in the northern part of the Hirvimaa permit, it told investors.

Further geophysical programs to start during August include downhole electromagnetics studies at the Kairamaat 2/3 permit and are designed to discover new mineralised bodies and extensions to known gold mineralization at Raja, Rumajärvi and Palokas.

Diamond drilling to test geophysical and base-of-till anomalies is earmarked to begin at the Hirvimaa and Männistö exploration permits next month.

Mawson also added that 6,912 from a total 7,078 assays remain unreported from the cobalt re-assay program and further results will be released shortly.

"The sulphide minerals associated with gold-cobalt mineralisation at Rajapalot have a predictable geophysical signature," said Michael Hudson, chairman and chief executive.

"These new geophysical surveys will allow us to derisk, refine and expand drilling targets for testing in the coming months.

"Combined with BOT geochemical drill data we have multiple drill targets defined on the Hirvimaa and Raja permits that are accessible for drilling year-round.

"We look forward to restarting diamond drilling during September as we wrap up the final assays and compilation from our extensive 75 drill hole (16,204 metres) winter diamond drill program."

Mawson shares lost 3.85% to C$0.25 on Monday.

Eight new holes were reported from three prospect areas while cobalt assays were provided from two holes where gold-only values were available previously.

All ten holes, except one, hit gold-cobalt mineralisation.

So far, 36 holes from 75 drilled have now been reported from the winter programme.

New cobalt assays, when added to the previously reported gold-only assays from a hole at the Raja prospect returned 33.6 metres at 9.7 g/t (grams per ton) Au Eq (gold equivalent), 8 g/t gold, 823 ppm (parts per million) cobalt from 243 metres, increasing the previously reported gold-only result by 22%.

Notably, cobalt assays from Raja continue to indicate the strong spatial relationship with gold but with a larger halo, the firm said.

"Rajapalot continues to present new and exciting opportunities with every additional result," said Mike Hudson, chairman and chief executive at Mawson.

"We continue to be encouraged by the broad uplift in gold-equivalent grades after the addition of cobalt assays," he said, highlighting one hole which assayed 33.6 metres at 9.7 g/t gold equivalent.

New targets

New targets continue to be generated as evidenced by the near-surface structural zone of mineralisation discovered at Raja with another hole intersecting 4.0 metres at 6.7 g/t gold equivalent, he added.

"Known mineralisation was extended at Palokas, 1.8 kilometres from Raja, where the mineralized position was successfully extended down-plunge by 100 metres.

"Furthermore, our increased geological knowledge of the mineralised system has facilitated regional targeting with 1-2 kilometre step out holes.

"With thousands of gold and cobalt assays still in the laboratory, we look forward to announcing data as they become available."

Mawson also noted that diamond drilling was planned to restart during September this year at Hirvimaa, Raja and Mannisto exploration permit areas.

Further ground magnetic work and planning of downhole electromagnetic surveys are earmarked to further refine winter 2019 drill targets, in particular, the down-plunge continuity of Raja prospect.

Ground magnetic surveys will commence in late June and electromagnetic surveys in September 2018, the company said.

Shares were unchnaged at C$0.29.

That hole was sunk 45 metres west of another hole, which hit 31.7 metres at 8.4 g/t (grams per ton) gold from 244.1 metres.

So far, only three from a total of 16 holes at Raja have been assayed for cobalt, including one which intersected 10.8 metres at 1,299 ppm (parts per million) Cobalt, 6.2 g/t (grams per ton) gold (8.7 g/t AuEq (gold equivalent) from 8.7 metres.

"Our Raja prospect, which is one of many prospect areas, continues to deliver," said Michael Hudson, Mawson chairman and chief executive.

"High-grade gold has again been intersected at Raja and drilled down plunge for greater than 450 metres with a width exceeding 100 metres.

"The continuity and predictability of high-grade mineralization is encouraging, with 4.0 metres @ 17.7 g/t gold in PAL0092, 5.0 metres @ 12.4 g/t in PAL0118 and 31.7 metres @ 8.4 g/t gold in PAL0093 all recently drilled.

"With cobalt assays outstanding from these drill holes, and thousands of gold and cobalt assays still in the laboratory, we look forward to announcing data as they become available."

Mawson added that a systematic cobalt assay program of around 3,000 Rajapalot samples was continuing with further assays to be reported in coming the months.

The winter diamond drill program totalled 16,204 metres in 75 drill holes across four exploration permit areas. Including those published here, assays from 28 drill holes have been released from Rajapalot and East Rompas. A further 47 drill holes are currently being logged and assayed.

Diamond drilling is planned to restart during August 2018 at Hirvimaa and Mannisto exploration permit areas.

In a statement, the company said that a geophysical crew has been mobilised to extend IP coverage of the area after the winter diamond drilling program identified gold mineralisation beyond the limits of geophysical data.

A total of 29-line kilometres of gradient array IP and resistivity data will be collected along lines spaced at 50 metres in the southern part of the Kairamaat 2/3 permit area. The map of the new IP survey area can be viewed here.

Mawson said the winter diamond drill programme has now ended with a total of 16,204 metres completed in 75 drill holes across four exploration permit areas - Männistö, Kairamaat 2/3, Hirvimaa and Raja.

While assays from 14 holes have been reported, the made and results will continue over the coming months as they become available. Drilling is scheduled to restart during the 2018 summer at Hirvimaa, Männistö and Raja exploration permit areas.

Diamond drilling is planned to restart during the 2018 summer at Hirvimaa, Männistö and Raja exploration permit areas.

Michael Hudson, chairman and CEO, said: "At Rajapalot we have demonstrated that the gold-bearing rocks coincide with predictable electrical and magnetic geophysical responses, allowing direct targeting beneath thin glacial soil that covers 99% of the prospect area.

“This new ground electrical survey in the Kairamaat 2/3 exploration permit will allow for identification of drill targets beyond the limits of geophysical coverage for testing in upcoming drill programmes."

Gradient array IP geophysical surveys can be used to accurately identify both disseminated sulphide minerals (where the surface area of sulphides may produce a chargeable electrical response) and electrically conductive features.

IP is a valuable mapping tool especially when used in combination with ground magnetics and airborne electromagnetics. It provides the potential to directly identify gold-bearing host rocks under the thin glacial soil that covers 99% of the prospect area.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources racing along with drilling progress at Rajapalot ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/194676/mawson-resources-racing-along-with-drilling-progress-at-rajapalot-194676.html Today's drill results from gold explorer Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) was another in a long list of encouraging updates on the prospectivity of its giant Rompas -Rajapalot project in Finland.

These are the group's flagship properties in Finnish Lapland, where high-grade gold has been discovered in camp-scale area over 10 sq km.

This year has already begun with gusto in terms of operations and the group kicked off, in January, a 15,000m winter drill program at Rajapalot aimed in part to provide a maiden resource, while a 900-hole base-of-till drill (BOT) program was planned for nearby Rompas.

In early March the firm said it had drilled its “best hole” so far at Rajapalot - it was at the Raja prospect and hit 31.7 meters at 8.4 grams per ton (g/t) of gold (Au) at 244.1m. That included 10.9m at 21.0 g/t gold from 252.2m.

For those of you who like to keep a record of the stats, Mawson has now drilled 59 holes during the winter program for a total of 13,079 meters of diamond drill core.

Today's assays hailed from nine holes, eight of which hit gold mineralization across five prospect areas.

These are Raja, Ruari, Palokas, Terry's Hammer and the Hut prospect.

"Mawson's dual aims for this winter's drill program were to systematically grid drill and extend known gold prospects, while also testing a dozen new semi-regional structural-stratigraphic targets," said the company

Although still less than a quarter of drill core from the winter program has been assayed, the first part of this strategy is clearly delivering at Raja...,it added.

A major strategic investment..

In February this year, the firm said it was poised for a C$8.1mln strategic investment from mining titan Goldcorp Inc (NYSE:GG).

Mawson arranged a private placing in which Goldcorp will subscribe for 18mln units at a price of 45 cents each.

"We are very pleased to welcome Goldcorp as a strategic shareholder. With the support of both Goldcorp and our existing shareholders we will continue to aggressively explore our district-scale Rajapalot-Rompas gold project which represents one of Finland's most significant gold discoveries, the company said.

What is the history?

Rajapalot is a grassroots discovery made by Mawson in mid 2012. Before that it was unknown and had never been sampled.

The thinking is that this could be a camp-scale discovery, given that gold and uranium have been found within an area approaching 10 kilometres by 10 kilometres.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources finds more high grade gold at Rajapalot in northern Finland ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/194638/mawson-resources-finds-more-high-grade-gold-at-rajapalot-in-northern-finland-194638.html Today's results come from nine holes and eight holes hit gold mineralization across five prospect areas, the group said.

"Mawson's dual aims for this winter's drill program were to systematically grid drill and extend known gold prospects, while also testing a dozen new semi-regional structural-stratigraphic targets," said Michael Hudson, chairman and chief executive at Mawson.

"Although still less than a quarter of drill core from the winter program has been assayed, the first part of this strategy is clearly delivering at Raja, with further high-grade mineralization discovered including 5.0 meters @ 12.4 g/t gold in PAL0118 lying 140 meters down-plunge from 10.9 meters at 21.0 g/t gold in PAL0093."

Hudson went on to say that the firm had drill discovered significant gold mineralization at five other prospects that were defined within Mawson's extensive geophysical, geochemical and geological datasets across the 12 sq km Rajapalot project.

"We are excited to have increased the mineralized footprints of each of these prospects, while receiving validation of the targeting methods developed by our technical team in the search for gold under thin glacial cover."

At Raja, gold mineralization now has a down-plunge extent of over 470 meters and remains open down plunge and partly across strike.

Another hole hit 7.7 meters at 1.5 g/t (grams per ton) gold from 256.6 meters within a broader mineralized zone of 40.3 meters at 0.8 g/t gold from 256.6 meters.

At the Ruari prospect, another hole hit 7.4 meters at 2.4 g/t gold from 15.6 meters to the north of a hole, which hit 56m at 0.53 g/t gold.

At Palokas, a hole hit 4.7 meters at 2.5 g/t gold from 37.6 meters, the company said.

This hole was drilled at the southern margin of the Palokas prospect and extends mineralization 30 meters further south towards South Palokas.

Drilling at the Terry's Hammer prospect hit 4.7m at 2.1 g/t gold from 65.7 meters in one hole, which was the first large diameter drill test of an anomaly comprising gold-bearing sulphidic rocks, said Mawson.

This hole opens up the potential of a new area between South Palokas and Rumajärvi.

Lastly, at the Hut prospect, a similar anomaly was targeted, and the first hole into this target intersected gold-bearing sulphides (0.8 meters at 0.6 g/t gold) before the hole was abandoned at 8.9 meters.

In all, 59 holes have now been drilled during the winter program for a total of 13,079 meters of diamond drill core.

Shares added 2.78% to C$0.37.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources reveals Palokas drill results ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/122937/mawson-resources-reveals-palokas-drill-results-122937.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW, OTCMKTS:MWSNF) has told investors that the first four holes from the Palokas prospect have all intersected the mineralized sequence.

It added, however, that only lower tenor gold mineralisation has been discovered down-dip and along strike from previous drilling.

"While we would have preferred a stronger start to the winter drill program at Palokas, we remain mindful these holes are only the start of the first deeper drilling program that tests an extensive gold-bearing system,” said Michael Hudson, Mawson chief executive.

“Our targeting methods using the low resistivity IP and VTEM geophysics are working and clearly define the mineralized host horizon, which we have now drilled over 1,000 metres of strike and intersected in every drill hole.”

Hudson added: “As always, high-grade gold distribution is complex, and our drilling continues to help build up a picture of this extensive gold system."

The group, whose flagship property is the Rompas gold project, issued around 15.7mln units at 20 cents each, with each unit consisting of one share and one-half of one share purchase warrant.

Net proceeds will be used to drill at the property aiming to complete a resource estimate in Q2, 2016, and for general working capital.

Chief executive Michael Hudson told investors: "What remains universal in our industry is that exploration lays the foundation for all value creation.

A large-scale gold discovery with high grades, at surface, in a good jurisdiction has the potential to withstand the normal cycles in our business.

We are fortunate to have shareholders that realised this potential early on during the discovery process at Rompas-Rajapalot.

"Since then we have all persisted during the long Finnish permitting process to get drill rigs onto site. A huge vote of thanks goes out to all participants.

"Post financing, Mawson will hold in excess of C$6 million cash which allows us to continue confidently with our drill plans, with the aim to work towards the first resource calculation on the property during the first half of 2016."

Each share purchase warrant is exercisable to buy one further share at $0.30 for two years until Dec 2, 2017.

Directors, including Hudson, and Mark Saxon participaterd in the cash call.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources sparkles after unveiling drilling results ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/111118/mawson-resources-sparkles-after-unveiling-drilling-results-111118.html Shares in Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) surged as the company announced the latest drill results from its Palokas gold discovery in Northern Finland.

Highlights from the drilling program included 9.2 metres at 3.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold intersected from 82 metres in drill hole PRAJ0110, and 5.8 metres at 6.2 g/t gold intersected from 39.1 metres in drill hole PRAJ0111, including one metre at 19.8 g/t gold from 42.1 metres.

The mineralization remains open in all directions, while the grades and thickness are consistent with up-dip drilling results, Mawson said.

The drilling campaign continues, with the group looking to excavate 600 metres from 12 holes by the end of October.

"Latest drilling provides another set of solid results," said Michael Hudson, chief executive and president of Mawson.

"Mineralization has now been discovered for greater than 100 metres down dip, and continues to show consistency of grade and thickness. Drilling continues and we look forward to releasing further drill results as they become available," he added.

Shares were up 25% ahead of the close of trading in Toronto, at C$0.225.

The gold mineralisation at the property remains open in all directions, while tests on the core have demonstrated excellent extraction of between 95% and 99% (average 97%), the company said.

The first hole of the current programme returned 19 metres at 5.3 grams per tonne(g/t) from 38.7 metres, while the immediate up dip results have included 19.6 metres at 7.5 g/t gold from 18.1 metres.

Drilling is continuing at the site with the anticipated programme until the end of October to consist of up to 12 holes.

Michael Hudson, the group's president and chief executive, said: "This is another great outcome for our investors and the fourth +100 grade thickness (g/t x m) gold intersection recorded at Palokas within a continuous zone from surface to 50 metres depth, confirming the significance of this discovery.

"Given the encouragement received to date from wide, consistent and high gold grades, we will plan to increase our Winkie-rig capacity at Palokas to 3 to 4 rigs this winter, with the aim to be in a position to calculate the first mineral resource at Palokas in Q2 2016.

"We look forward to releasing further drill results as they become available."

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources calls on Finnish NGO to withdraw false claims ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/110234/mawson-resources-calls-on-finnish-ngo-to-withdraw-false-claims-110234.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) has called on the police to investigate certain accusations that were made against it in a court appeal case in Finland.

The Canadian company wants to know whether the accusations, made by the Lapland district organization of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation - a non-governmental organization, or NGO - in a recent re-appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court, constitute a criminal act under Finnish Law.

Mawson's request for the police investigation concerns certain contents of the appeal, and not the appeal process itself.

The NGO initially appealed against the Finnish Mining Authority's decision to award Mawson an exploration permit, and when it lost that case it appealed to the Supreme Administrative Court, saying that Mawson had performed deep drilling in Natura 2000 biodiversity areas before the permit was awarded.

Mawson refutes this claim and said that any doubts over its position can easily be verified from public records.

Under Finnish Law, it is a criminal act to even attempt to wilfully mislead a court, and although Mawson has given the NGO ample time and opportunity to retract its accusations, it has not done so, hence the call for the boys in blue to get involved.

These actions have no effect on Mawson advancing under its current permit conditions to drill with man-portable rigs at the Palokas gold discovery.

"We accept it is unusual for an exploration company to request a police investigation to review the actions of an NGO; however, Mawson finds itself in the position where it has no other recourse but to defend itself and the rights of all its shareholders and stakeholders," said Michael Hudson, president and chief executive officer of Mawson.

"Since the appeal was lodged, Mawson has provided multiple opportunities for the NGO to correct their statements. As these requests have been ignored, it appears the NGO's intentions are to delay Mawson's research by all means available. The police investigation request concerns certain contents of the NGO appeal, and not the appeal process itself, which is the NGO's legal right," Hudson said.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson resumes drilling at Palokas mine in August ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/109665/mawson-resumes-drilling-at-palokas-mine-in-august-109665.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) (Frankfurt:MXR) will resume drilling at the Palokas high grade gold discovery within the Rajapalot project area in Finland on August 03, 2015. The program is expected to last until the end of October, focusing on 12 holes for 600 meters.

The drilling will proceed down dip and down plunge based on drill results from 2013 to 2015: 19.5 metres @ 7.4 g/t gold from 18.1 metres, including 5.0m @ 24.1 g/t gold from 26.7 metres; 19.0 metres @ 2.3 g/t gold from 8.0 metres, including: 8.7m @ 4.6 g/t gold from 16.9 metres; 19.5 metres @ 7.4 g/t gold from 1.3 metres, including: 5.4m @ 37.6 g/t gold from 2.5m.

"Previous gold intersections at Palokas are wide, high-grade, near-surface and remain open in all directions. Should results prove encouraging, we now have the ability to drill with our Winkie rig through to the Finnish winter without interruption. We will continue to work closely with both the mining and environmental authorities to ensure our work is conducted according to sustainable and global best practice methods," said Mawson Resources’ president and CEO, Michael Hudson.

The company will continue to operate its own hand portable, low impact Winkie drill rig, capable of drilling to depths of 120 metres. Drilling tested beneath earlier intersections demonstrating gold extraction.

This has a low environmental impact and eases portability thanks to its reduced weight. Mawson will also capture all drill cuttings, placing walkways to reduce the impacts of foot traffic.

The drill holes will test below and along strike from known gold mineralization within an area of 600 metres along strike by up to 200 metres across strike.

Mawson and relevant environmental authorities have completed and will continue biological baseline mapping of all areas where drilling and access will take place.

Neighboring village associations and the local municipality support Mawson’s project, wanting to see it progress such that it might also serve as a potential future employment base for declining population areas in the Lapland region.

<![CDATA[News - NGO appeals to Finnish Supreme Administrative Court to delay Mawson Resources’ updated exploration p ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/108316/ngo-appeals-to-finnish-supreme-administrative-court-to-delay-mawson-resources-updated-exploration-p-108316.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) will continue advancing its exploration program under its current permit conditions after a re-appeal by the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation to delay its updated exploration permit, granted by the Finnish Mining Authority (TUKES) and upheld by the Northern Finland Administrative (NFA) Court. The NGO has exercised its legal right to appeal this ruling to the Supreme Administrative Court.

On May 21, the NFA Court upheld all aspects of Mawson’s exploration permit, entitling the miner to deeper drill rig access within a Natura 2000 biodiversity area during winter conditions. The NGO appealed this decision on June 18 and the Supreme Court could take three to twelve months to handle the appeal.

But, given the case’s impact on the livelihoods of many local people, Mawson will apply for the Court to hear the appeal as quickly as possible.

The NFA Court endorsed the permit granted to Mawson, which was fully backed by all environmental authorities, to allow deeper drilling at the highly prospective Palokas gold project, which enjoys strong support from the local Ylitornio and Lapland community.

Meanwhile, Mawson will continue drilling from August 1, at the end of an EU mandated bird nesting exclusion period, under its current permit conditions, a program not affected by the re-appeal. It has the right to drill with man-portable rigs to test the Palokas gold discovery, which has so far delivered 19.6m at 7.5 g/t gold from 18.1 metres using the Winkie hand portable drill rig.

"Mawson will continue to work alongside all authorities and local people to drill the Palokas gold discovery, according to our current permit conditions. Despite establishing significant goodwill over the last 18 months with the NGO, I am disappointed they have chosen to re-appeal an unambiguous decision by the lower court. Of course, this is their legal right until the new Finnish Government's New Governmental Coalition Program is enacted. However, over the last year four administrative bodies have found that Mawson's exploration work, carried out as permitted, does not present any significant risks to nature, environment, animals, other livelihoods, or people in Palokas area or its vicinity,” said Mawson’s president and CEO, Michael Hudson.

Mawson suggests that by challenging the NFA Court’s clear and legally binding decision, the NGO is resorting to any means to delay the exploration while failing to consider the opinion of Finnish civil society and the population, which have clearly supported the project.

The recently elected Finnish Government's New Governmental Coalition Program has decided to limit access to the Supreme Administrative Court in environmental and construction matters.

The Supreme Administrative Court will prepare an initial review and draft decision of the appeal to establish questions of law and the facts of the appeal. This will include a compilation of the case file and written submissions and observations from all parties. This process typically takes 3-4 months and can lead to appeal rejection. Should the case continues to the Supreme Administrative Court Chamber, the deliberations and the decision take, on average, a year from the start of the initial review.

Over the last year, four administrative bodies representing the mining and environmental authorities and the Court found that Mawson's exploration work, in accordance with the permit, has not caused any significant risks to the environment, fauna and flora or to any people living in the Palokas area.

Neighboring village associations and the local municipality support Mawson’s project, wanting to see it progress such that it might also serve as a potential future employment base for declining population areas in the Lapland region.

<![CDATA[News - Finnish Court rejects NGO's appeal against Mawson Resources' exploration permit ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/108206/finnish-court-rejects-ngo-s-appeal-against-mawson-resources-exploration-permit-108206.html Shares of Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) jumped 31 percent on Tuesday after the Northern Finland Administrative Court has rejected all claims made by a Finnish NGO in an appeal it made to block its exploration permit granted by the Finnish Mining Authority (TUKES).

In July 2014 the NGO appealed the Finnish mining department’s decision to permit Mawson deeper rig access granted within the Natura 2000 biodiversity areas during winter conditions and hand portable rig access during summer conditions.

The court has reiterated both the earlier exploration permit and the conditions set out by the mining and environmental administration, said Mawson in a statement. But the company’s exploration permit will be legally enforceable until the end of a re-appeal window of time, which closes on June 22, 2015.

"With this decision, the Court has unequivocally endorsed the permit granted to Mawson by the mining authority, which was fully supported by all environmental authorities, to allow deeper drilling at the highly prospective Palokas gold project. The local population continues to show overwhelming support for the project. We believe the NGO should now respect the wishes of the local people and allow Mawson to continue its work, in an environmentally sound way, without further delay. Continued co-operation between all stakeholders will lead to the best outcome for the environment, and importantly, the best outcome for the Ylitornio and Lapland community," said Mawson’s President and CEO, Michael Hudson.

Over the last year, four administrative bodies representing the mining and environmental authorities and the Court found that Mawson's exploration work, in accordance with the permit, has not caused any significant risks to the environment, fauna and flora or to any people living in the Palokas area, said the company in a statement.

Neighboring village associations and the local municipality support Mawson’s project, wanting to see it progress such that it might also serve as a potential future employment base for declining population areas in the Lapland region. Despite support from all levels of the community and the courts, Mawson has suggested that the NGO may file an appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court.

Should the NGO continue to pursue legal avenues, however, it may find the process more challenging because, as Mawson points out, the recently elected Finnish Government's New Governmental Coalition Program, has made it clear that it wants to limit instances where third parties can delay the permitting process. The proposed Program can play a number of ‘cards’ by limiting access to the Supreme Administrative Court in environmental and construction matters and raise fees for appeals to deter parties lacking a strong legal case.

Finnish Law grants a final level appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court. Nevertheless, the ruling has also ratified Mawson’s plans to drill at the Palokas gold discovery, starting on August 1, with the Company's Winkie hand portable drill rig. The program which has already produced results including 19.6m @ 7.5 g/t gold from 18.1 metres, is not subject to re-appeal.

After gaining legal force, Mawson plans to undertake a substantial winter deep diamond drilling program at the Palokas prospect. Mawson’s exploration permit will be valid for a period of 3 years, the maximum time allowable under the Mining Act, while the company can apply to extend this period can be made in 3-year intervals, up to a maximum of 15 years.

Mawson, which has endured a slow permitting process since its first major discovery in Finland more than three years ago, has emphasized in the past that it has worked with all authorities to minimize the impacts of its planned drilling, including the capture of all drill cuttings, reduction in total machine weight and the placement of walkways to reduce foot traffic while creating an inventory and monitoring program for all vegetation.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson extends high grade gold mineralization to greater depth at Palokas ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/106972/mawson-extends-high-grade-gold-mineralization-to-greater-depth-at-palokas-106972.html

Mawson Resources (CSE:MAW) has unveiled results from another 14 high grade near surface drill holes completed at its Palokas prospect at its Rompas-Rajapalot gold project in northern Finland, including 19.6m uncovering 7.5 g/t gold from 18.1 meters in drill hole PRAJ0107.

Gold mineralization was revealed in all directions including 5.0m featuring 24.1 g/t gold from 26.7 meters and 5.1m featuring 3.8 g/t gold from 18.3 metres in drill hole PRAJ0108.

“This is a great result for our investors, and highlights the developing potential of the Palokas discovery. Gold intersections are wide, high-grade and near surface, all providing motivation for our continued optimism for this exciting gold discovery,” said Mawson’s president and chief executive officer Michael Hudson.

Drilling tested beneath earlier intersections demonstrating gold extraction from 95% to 99% from a combination of gravity separation and conventional cyanide methods.

The drill results coincide with a series of near surface geophysical anomalies in a 3.5 kilometer target horizon within a broader 100 square kilometer district of gold mineralization located between the Rompas and Rajapalot project areas.

Mawson will resume use of its new low-impact, hand-portable Winkie diamond core drill rig next August, “along the 3.5 kilometers of prospective strike around Palokas, as defined by elevated gold in drilling and surface samples with co-incident geophysical responses," Hudson said.

Mawson, which has endured a slow permitting process since its first major discovery in Finland more than three years ago, has emphasized in the past that it has worked with all authorities to minimize the impacts of its planned drilling, including the capture of all drill cuttings, reduction in total machine weight and the placement of walkways to reduce foot traffic.

This is because roughly 20 percent of the 10,000 hectares claimed at Mawson's Rompas-Rajapalot Finland project are defined as EU biodiversity Natura 2000 areas, meaning that there are limitations on certain exploration methods that can be completed.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson finds "compelling" target down plunge from Palokas ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/105922/mawson-finds-compelling-target-down-plunge-from-palokas-60432.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) said it has extended its Palokas prospect in Finland via a 3D induced polarization survey, which has revealed a "compelling" target down plunge from known mineralization.

The company, in a statement released earlier Monday, said a 600-metre long conductive anomaly has been defined, extending down plunge from drilled near surface mineralization.

The thickness of the anomaly increases with depth, and is open below the 250-metre depth of the survey, according to Mawson's release.

In addition, final results from near-surface, investigative drilling returned an intercept of 0.3 metres grading 49.6 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 1000 metres from the Palokas prospect. These results are located above the conductive body defined by the 3D survey, Mawson said.

The company is expecting the delivery of a hand portable diamond drill this week to extend its drill depth capacity to 120 metres. The drilling, which remains subject to final permitting, is planned to start in April, to test below the known gold mineralization.

"Our new hand portable rig with extra depth capacity will advance our understanding of the 1.2km long Palokas mineralized system below the 30 metres depth we have tested to date," said president and chief executive officer, Michael Hudson.

The 3D IP survey completed at Palokas started more than 250 metres north of the target, to 500 metres south of the prospect.

Roughly 20 percent of the 10,000 hectares claimed at Mawson's Rompas-Rajapalot Finland project are defined as EU biodiversity Natura 2000 areas, meaning that there are limitations on certain exploration methods that can be completed.

The company --- which has had to undergo a slow permitting process since its first major discovery in Finland four years ago -- has emphasized in the past that it has worked with all authorities to minimize the impacts of its planned drilling, including the capture of all drill cuttings, reduction in total machine weight and the placement of walkways to reduce foot traffic.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson wraps up geophysical survey at Palokas to identify deeper drill targets ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/105022/mawson-wraps-up-geophysical-survey-at-palokas-to-identify-deeper-drill-targets-59220.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) says it has completed a 3D induced polarization geophysical survey at its Palokas prospect in Finland, with results still pending.

The survey covers an area of 750 metres in strike length and 600 metres in width. The goal is to identify deeper diamond drilling targets beneath near-surface mineralization found by hand portable drilling, the type of drilling Mawson is allowed to use under current regulations.

This is because roughly 20 percent of the 10,000 hectares claimed at Mawson's Rompas-Rajapalot Finland project are defined as EU biodiversity Natura 2000 areas, meaning that there are limitations on certain exploration methods that can be completed.

"We remain active in the field in Finland with both near-surface, hand portable drilling and geophysical surveying and processing continuing during January 2015," said president and chief executive officer Michael Hudson.

"The IP survey covers the Palokas prospect that contains the strongest near-surface mineralization discovered to date, along the 1.2 kilometre mineralized trend, where hand portable drilling results have included 19.5 metres @ 7.4 g/t gold from 1.3 metres depth."

Geophysical testing last year showed the geophysical response of mineralization continues to more than 150 metres depth, with this latest survey expected to help in defining deeper drilling targets below near surface mineralization.

The company also said drill testing of more shallow targets 400 metres south of Palokas, also with a hand portable rig, is still ongoing, and is expected to be completed soon.

Mawson is awaiting the result on an appeal made by an NGO group against a decision by Finnish mining authorities last July to grant the company full drill access during winter conditions within Natura 2000 biodiversity areas. The modified claims would cover 1,462 hectares on its Rajapalot project in Finland.

A decision on the appeal is expected this year; subject to the decision, the plan is to undertake a winter deep diamond drilling program at Palokas, Mawson said.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources boosts Palokas prospect strike length fourfold ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/104709/mawson-resources-boosts-palokas-prospect-strike-length-fourfold-58827.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) has unveiled results from another 14 shallow drill holes completed south of its Palokas prospect at its Rompas-Rajapalot gold project in Finland, extending the prospect's strike length to 1.2 kilometres.

The drill holes were conducted with a low impact, hand-portable drill rig, the company said, with highlighted intersections including 3.9 metres at 3.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 23 metres and 3.4 metres of 2.0 g/t gold from 14 metres.

The new holes represent a fourfold increase in the drilled gold mineralization from Palokas as compared to the 300 metres strike length reported in October, Mawson said.

Strike width of mineralization also increased up to 120 metres, suggesting possible multiple horizons across strike, it added.

Adding to this, all discoveries remain open along strike and at depth.

"New near surface drill results using our own low-impact drill rig have significantly expanded the footprint of the Palokas mineralizing system in both strike (1.2 kilometres) and width (120 metres)," said president and chief executive officer Michael Hudson.

"A large and complex hydrothermal overprint of the metamorphosed rocks in the Rajapalot area is now recognized."

The CEO said that the Palokas prospect currently remains the strongest near surface mineralization along the trend. Near surface testing with the hand portable rig has revealed a considerable strike length of similar alteration, he explained, with "lower but consistent" gold grades over a much larger area.

Drilling was conducted in an area covered by 2-5 metre thick glacial till deposits, with a total of 33 holes completed thus far in the 2014 fall/winter program. Drilling is continuing, Mawson said, while the company awaits final permits to deep drill test below 30 metres vertical depth.

Mawson --- which has had to undergo a slow permitting process since its first major discovery in Finland more than three years ago -- has emphasized in the past that it has worked with all authorities to minimize the impacts of its planned drilling, including the capture of all drill cuttings, reduction in total machine weight and the placement of walkways to reduce foot traffic.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson appoints Finland-focused environmental specialist to advance development ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/104156/mawson-appoints-finland-focused-environmental-specialist-to-advance-development-58093.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) has appointed environmental specialist Noora Raasakka as the company's environmental leader in Finland.

Raasakka is a forestry engineer, with a master's degree in landscape management, and has developed a strong background with the Finnish environmental administration, the company said.

She was mostly recently working for the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Lapland in the nature protection unit as a project manager for a program to develop biodiversity and ecological connections between Natura 2000 sites.

Roughly 20 percent of the 10,000 hectares claimed at Mawson's Rompas-Rajapalot Finland project are defined as EU biodiversity Natura 2000 areas, meaning that there are limitations on certain exploration methods that can be completed.

"The appointment of Noora gives Mawson a unique opportunity to expand our sustainable development work and move it to a higher level in Finland," said president and chief executive officer, Michael Hudson.

"Noora has a strong ecological background and brings to this position 20 years of experience in the Finnish environmental administration focusing on biodiversity and ecological issues.

"With this appointment, we can bring a sustainable future closer to reality by actively generating economic growth based on environmentally responsible and socially acceptable behaviours and actions."

As environmental leader, Raasakka will set environmental policy with Mawson's senior management, and will be responsible for environmental monitoring and management plans, the company said.

Specifically, she will look to identify and manage key environmental risks associated with Mawson's projects and ensure environmental factors are effectively addressed and managed on time and within scope.

Recently, Mawson revealed gold extraction rates of up to 99 percent from its Palokas prospect at its Rompas-Rajapalot project after receiving results from preliminary metallurgical tests.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson sees up to 99% gold extraction rates from Palokas prospect in Finland ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/103862/mawson-sees-up-to-99-gold-extraction-rates-from-palokas-prospect-in-finland-57701.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) has unveiled gold extraction rates of up to 99 percent from its Palokas prospect at its Rompas-Rajapalot project in Finland after receiving results from preliminary metallurgical tests.

The company said gold extractions results of between 95 and 99 percent were obtained, with an average of 97 percent, by a combination of gravity separation and conventional cyanidation.

The work indicates gold recovery and processing are potentially amenable to conventional industry standards, Mawson said, with a flowsheet which could include crushing and grinding, gravity recovery and cyanide leaching with gold recovery via a carbon-in-pulp circuit for production of on-site gold dore.

"This is a significant outcome," said president and chief executive officer, Michael Hudson.

"Although we have seen visible gold in hand specimens and thin sections, it is encouraging to see that these results demonstrate gold extraction at Palokas is amenable to a conventional flowsheet with up to 99% recoveries."

The metallurgical testing was based on four composite samples from drill holes, which were sent to SGS Mineral Services UK in Cornwall. The next phase of work will seek to review mineralogical gold deportment, whole ore cyanidation, complete gravity recoverable gold tests and more, Mawson said.

Earlier this month, the junior gold explorer unveiled the results of the first six shallow drill holes completed south of its Palokas prospect in Finland, saying they have tripled the footprint of the target. This was the first time the company had the opportunity to drill across the entire Palokas trend at Rajapalot, with drilling having begun about 300 metres south of Palokas where core sample results last year returned 19.5 metres grading 7.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

The company said Tuesday that drilling with the low impact core sampler continues up to 1km south of Palokas.

Mawson --- which has had to undergo a slow permitting process since its first major discovery in Finland more than three years ago -- emphasized it has worked with all authorities to minimize the impacts of its planned drilling, including the capture of all drill cuttings, reduction in total machine weight and the placement of walkways to reduce foot traffic.

It reported today an update on its dealings with certain Finnish environmental authorities relating to work completed during its 2010 and 2011 field programs, involving allegations that Mawson's hand digging affected the nature values of the area. It said a full hearing is scheduled in early November, with the company noting how pleased it is that the case has advanced after four years through formal legal processes.

The junior explorer has always maintained that hand digging had no material impact on the nature values in question. Roughly 20 percent of the 10,000 hectares claimed at its Finland project are defined as EU biodiversity Natura 2000 areas, including Palokas, meaning that there are limitations on certain exploration methods that can be completed.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson Resources raises over $3mln for Rompas-Rajapalot exploration ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/103642/mawson-resources-raises-over-3mln-for-rompas-rajapalot-exploration-57396.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) says it has closed the non-brokered $3.0 million private placement financing it announced last month to advance exploration at its Rompas-Rajapalot project in Finland.

The company issued 9.12 million units at a price of 33 cents apiece, with every unit consisting of one common share and one half of a share purchase warrant. Each warrant can be used to acquire one additional common share of Mawson at a price of 50 cents, for a period of two years from the date of closing.

Mawson said that Sentient Global Resources, which is part of a group of funds that is an existing shareholder of the company, subscribed for 3.03 million units under the placement, for total proceeds of $1.0 million. Sentient Group now holds 34.7 percent of the company on a partially diluted basis, when taking into account the full exercise of warrants issued under the placement.

Earlier this month, the junior gold explorer unveiled the results of the first six shallow drill holes completed south of its Palokas prospect in Finland, saying they have tripled the footprint of the target, which is part of the company's Rompas-Rajapalot gold project.

This is the first time the company had the opportunity to drill across the entire Palokas trend at Rajapalot, with drilling having begun about 300 metres south of Palokas where core sample results last year returned 19.5 metres grading 7.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

The plan is to continue to drill south-southwest of Palokas, with a total of 25 sites aimed to be tested until the end of October.

"These are early days, with our drilling testing no more than 20-30 metres vertically from surface, and more than 3.5 kilometres of strike potential at Rajapalot that remains to be tested," said chief executive Michael Hudson in a statement released last week.

<![CDATA[News - Mawson triples Palokas prospect in Finland with first high grade shallow drill results ]]> https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/103558/mawson-triples-palokas-prospect-in-finland-with-first-high-grade-shallow-drill-results-57260.html Mawson Resources (TSE:MAW) has unveiled the results of the first six shallow drill holes completed south of its Palokas prospect in Finland, saying they have tripled the footprint of the target, which is part of the company's Rompas-Rajapalot gold project.

This is the first time the company has had the opportunity to drill across the entire Palokas trend at Rajapalot, with drilling having begun about 300 metres south of Palokas where core sample results last year returned 19.5 metres grading 7.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

Of the highlights from the latest results, Mawson intersected 2.0 metres at 9.1 g/t gold from 25.4 metres and 3.0 metres at 5.1 g/t gold from 8.7 metres as well as 1 metre of 14.7 g/t gold from 16.3 metres.

"The high degree of continuity and strike rate of blind, but near surface high grade gold mineralization intersected in these first shallow drill holes is an very encouraging start," said president and chief executive officer, Michael Hudson.

The drilling was completed with a low-impact, hand portable core sampler rig through glacial till overburden in an area of gold-bearing glacial boulders, the company said.

Importantly, the results triple the drilled gold mineralized footprint of Palokas, according to Mawson's statement released earlier today, with five holes of six intersecting significant gold mineralization.

The junior gold explorer said all the discoveries are blind and are covered by 4 to 5 metre thick glacial till deposits, open along strike and at depth.

The plan is to continue to drill south-southwest of Palokas, with a total of 25 sites aimed to be tested until the end of October.

"These are early days, with our drilling testing no more than 20-30 metres vertically from surface, and more than 3.5 kilometres of strike potential at Rajapalot that remains to be tested," said Hudson.

The company --- which has had to undergo a slow permitting process since its first major discovery in Finland more than three years ago -- emphasized it has worked with all authorities to minimize the impacts of its planned drilling, including the capture of all drill cuttings, reduction in total machine weight and the placement of walkways to reduce foot traffic.

More results from holes already drilled are still pending, it added, with a total of 12 holes drilled to date. The holes reported so far all lie immediately up-dip from a strong modelled electromagnetic anomaly, Mawson said.

Roughly 20 percent of the 10,000 hectares claimed at its Finland project are defined as EU biodiversity Natura 2000 areas, including Palokas, meaning that there are limitations on certain exploration methods that can be completed.

The company recently launched a $3.05 million private placement financing to raise funds for its Rompas-Rajapalot project.

The company will issue up to 9.24 million units at a price of 33 cents apiece, with every unit consisting of one common share and one half of a share purchase warrant. Each warrant can be used to acquire one additional common share of Mawson at a price of 50 cents, for a period of two years from the date of closing.

Mawson said that company insider Sentient Global Resources is subscribing for 3.03 million units under the placement, for total proceeds of $1.0 million.

Earlier this month, the gold explorer restarted drilling at its Palokas prospect on its Rompas-Rajapalot project in Finland with a low impact core sampler, marking the first time it has had the opportunity to drill across the entire Palokas trend. The new drilling started 300 metres south of the Palokas prospect where core sample results obtained within the last year yielded 19.5 metres of 7.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 1.3 metres depth.

The current plan is to drill within an area of 1.2 km strike by up to 1.0 km across strike with a company-owned hand portable low impact rig, testing near surface anomalies below 2 to 5 metres of glacial till overburden.

The company emphasized that it has worked with regional authorities to minimize the impacts of the drilling, including the capture of all drill cuttings, reduction in total machine weight and the placement of walkways to reduce foot traffic.

Mawson has had to undergo a slow permitting process since its first major discovery in Finland more than three years ago, as roughly 20 percent of the 10,000 hectares claimed at its Finland project are defined as biodiversity Natura 2000 areas, including Palokas, meaning that there are limitations on certain exploration methods that can be completed.
