Canada-based gold and silver miner Mandalay Resources Corp (TSX:MND) has shuffled the responsibilities of its senior executives.
Brad Mills, chief executive, is to become executive chairman and oversee strategic direction and operations.
Mark Sander, currently COO, will become the new president and chief executive.
Mills said his new role would see him continue to be actively involved in Mandalay’s overall strategy and direction.
Sander has played a key role in Mandalay’s development since its acquisition of the Costerfield mine in Australia, he added.
Prior to joining Mandalay Sander was Vice President of Strategy and Planning for BHP Billiton’s copper group.
He will replace chief financial officer Sanjay Swarup as one of the two executive directors on the board.
Board chairman Braam Jonker will assume the role of lead independent director, while Tony Griffin, the representative of major shareholder West Face Capital, is to step down.
