Marvel, the company behind superhero comics such as The Avengers and Spiderman, has quickly abandoned plans to hook-up with defence company Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC).
Ahead of the Comic Con held over the weekend in New York, Marvel announced plans for a comic featuring a new team of costumed superheroes known as the Northrop Grumman Elite Nexus, or NGEN.
The NGEN team was to team up with the Avengers but the response on social media hit Marvel like a figurative rocket, and the idea was quickly dropped.

On the plus side, the new movie featuring Marvel character Thor seems to be going down well with the faithful.

Then again, a flop for a film about Ragnarok would not be the end of the world …
