Enertopia Corp (CSE:TOP, OTCQB:ENRT) recently announced raise of C$132,000 means it can move forward with a drill program at its Clayton Valley lithium project in Nevada.
The firm controls around 160 acres of claims in the area less than two miles from Albemarle's Silver's production facility- the only lithium brine producer in North America.
Speaking to Proactive, Enertopia's president and chief executive Robert McAllister said the work, comprising five holes and done by contractors, would likely to begin in late October, or November this year.
In a statement on Friday, he said that now there could be "final preparation" for submittal to the BLM of the company's NOI (notice of intent) to drill.
"The focus of the drill program is multifaceted," he said.
"Firstly, it is to confirm that the tenor and grade of mineralization that is adjacent to our property to the west is similar on our project. The information gained will then be incorporated into our first NI 43-101 resource report.
"Secondly, the company will undertake systematic and through solution testing of the drilled lithium enriched horizons.
"This will enable the company to map the subsurface horizons as peroxide and reduced horizons and further differentiate the grade of lithium in solution that can be potentially recovered in a low capex and low-cost extraction methods.
"Thirdly, the company continues to move forward with respect to recovering lithium from its synthetic brine solutions. We look forward to providing detailed updates as testing and drilling results are received over the coming months."
Of the five holes, one will be a twin hole, he said, speaking to Proactive's Steve Darling, which will allow solution testing to be carried out.
Bench-scale test work on lithium-bearing clays from Clayton Valley in Nevada is already being carried out.
The test work to create a Lithium brine with industry-leading low impurities is a big milestone toward developing the potential production of lithium salts and concentrate.
Enertopia shares on the OTC on Friday added around 19% to US$0.029. Today (September 4) in Toronto, they added over 16% to C$0.035.
