Montero Mining & Exploration Ltd (CVE:MON) moved a step closer to developing the Uis lithium-tin tailings project in Namibia, inking a non-binding letter of intent (LOI) with Gravity Worx Mining Solutions to provide technical services.
Gravity Worx is a specialist engineering company that provides engineering and operational solutions to the mining sector.

Gravity will provide its services free of charge in return for the chance to develop a non-binding proposal to Montero to supply a process plant for the tailings containing lithium and tin as well as operational services on a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) basis.
Tailings are the waste materials generated in a mining operation but can be reprocessed to recover additional minerals.
Dr Tony Harwood, the president and CEO of Montero, said he was pleased at the agreement.
As reported earlier, the Uis lithium tin tailings project has a NI43-101 compliant inferred resource of 14.4 million tonnes at 0.37% lithium (Li2O) and 17.1 million tonnes at 0.05% tin (SnO2) in coarse and fine tailings material.
Montero and Gravity Worx are currently assessing the metallurgical characteristics of the tailings to cost and design a lithium and tin process plant.
The Uis Lithium Tin tailings project consists un-weathered surface mine tailings of coarse sand tailings and slimes derived from the Uis Tin mining operation between 1924 and 1990.
