Global Gaming Technologies Corp (OTCMKTS:BLKCF) (CNSX:BLOC.U) said Friday that its wholly-owned subsidiary X2 Games Corp will participate in the annual Game Developers Conference, in San Francisco.

The world’s largest game industry event will kick off with much fanfare on Monday. X2 Games will be sharing an exhibition booth with Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN), where it will showcase St Noire, a murder-mystery board game that you play with Amazon Alexa.

The game sees players work together to solve a murder case in the mysterious small town of St Noire. Players interact with their Alexa smart speaker to discover clues, interrogate witnesses and figure out who is behind the killings. Professional voice actors voice all characters in the game, and there are six different plots to play through.

Each St Noire game is on sale now for $39.99 exclusively with Amazon and customers can place pre-orders through the website.

St Noire marks the first launch from X2 Games, an indie games publisher created by Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari, and Zai Ortiz, a creative director best known for creating the hologram sequences in Marvel’s Iron Man movies.

Separately, X2 Games is participating Friday in a panel titled "Toys and Games of Today and The Future of Play” at the 2019 South by Southwest Conference, in Austin, Texas.

The future of games

"What may seem like science fiction is in fact here today and it's incredibly fun to play,” said X2 Games co-founder, president and chief creative officer Zai Ortiz. “Our vision is to give our customers a once-in-a-lifetime experience, through new media and new platforms, that is beyond the current technology."

The South by Southwest Conference attracted over 75,098 attendees last year with more than 300,000 people attending the additional music and interactive film festival events.

Separately, Ortiz will also be speaking about the future of Alexa voice gaming at a panel presented by Amazon called "Alexa, Give Your Game a Voice" on Monday between 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm (PDT) at the Game Developers Conference, in San Francisco.

GDC was the world's largest and longest running event serving professionals dedicated to the art and science of making games.

More than 28,000 industry professionals attended Game Developers Conference in San Francisco last year, along with over 550 companies exhibiting their new gaming technologies and software.
