Cabral Gold Inc (CVE:CBR) (OTCMKTS:CBGZF) released a new set of drill results from the Cuiú Cuiú project in Brazil that hit high-grade gold at the previously untested Morro la Lua target.

Highlights from the latest set of results showed a single hole returned 2.8 metres at 19.5 grams per ton (g/t) gold from between 42 and 45 metres, including 0.7 metres at 70.3 g/t gold.

An additional hole returned results that indicate the presence of at least three high grade veins, including 0.5 metres at 9.1 g/t gold from nearly 100 metres and 0.6 metres at 14.8 g/t gold from 130.9 metres.

Previous drilling at Morro da Lua confirmed the presence of multiple high-grade veins at depth as well as the continuation of high-grade mineralization at depth. The company expects further drilling will be required to establish the vertical and lateral continuity of the high-grade veins.

"We are very pleased with the high-grade drill results from Morro da Lua which add to very compelling high-grade intercepts recently released from the Machichie, Machichie East and Seis Irmaos targets,” said Alan Carter, president and CEO of Cabral Gold. “All four of these targets had no previous drilling and further highlight the excellent high-grade potential of the Cuiú Cuiú project.”

The Vancouver-based company also released results from the Jerimum Cima target that highlighted a broad low-grade gold zone.

Carter said additional drilling will be required to determine the size and grade of these new discoveries, together with the high-grade zones at the Central and MG deposits, where there are almost 60 historic drill intercepts above 10g/t gold.

Encouraging results

The junior gold explorer recently released results from the Machichie target on the project, where channel sampling resulted in 9.5 metres at 5.3 grams per ton (g/t) gold, including 1.5 metres at 30.8 g/t gold.

A second sample taken 100 metres further east returned 0.75 metres at 22.1 g/t gold, extending the high-grade zone at Machichie by at least 180 metres, bringing the strike length to over 450 metres.

Cabral’s Cuiú Cuiú has a resource 5.9 million tons grading 0.9 g/t gold of Indicated and 19.5 million tons grading 1.2 g/t gold Inferred, or 0.2 million ounces and 0.8 million ounces of gold, respectively.
