Galantas Gold chief on importance of Omagh gold finds

Published: 10:28 16 Sep 2015 EDT

The chief executive of Galantas Gold (LON:GAL), Roland Phelps, discusses the significance of high grade gold discoveries close to the boundary of its Omagh Gold Mine, Northern Ireland.

Grab samples from an outcrop and boulder yielded grades of up to 67.5 grams per tonne of gold and 81 grams of silver a spot near the aforementioned Sharkey vein.

One of the most important aspects of the RNS, according to Phelps, was that the findings suggest there could be another vein to the west of the so-called Joshua structure.

This will be targeted in the short term, he says, as the freehold of the mine extends westwards some 450 metres from Joshua, an area in which Galantas is permitted to mine underground.
