Government minister in Malawi re-iterates support for Mkango, as feasibility work at Songwe continues

Mkango Resources Ltd (LON:MKA)(CVE:MKA) has confirmed that a recently shipped 60 tonne bulk rock sample taken from the Songwe Hill rare earths project has now arrived into Fremantle Port in Western Australia.

Metallurgical and mineral processing testwork on this sample will form part of the ongoing feasibility study which is fully funded by Talaxis, a subsidiary of Noble Group.

Meanwhile, a recent visit from the Honourable Minister of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining, Binton Kutsaira, to Songwe has underlined the government’s support of the project.

“The advancement of the Songwe Hill project offers real hope to the nation of Malawi that it will have a producing rare earths mine in the near future,” Kutsaira said.

“The government of Malawi is 100% committed to supporting investors in the mining sector such as Mkango Resources Limited, as mining is a priority on the government's agenda of transforming the economy of the Malawi."

Elsewhere, on the Thambani niobium and tantalum project a team of geologists with logistical support is currently carrying out a detailed exploration work programme.
