Ximen Mining poised to break ground for new portal at Kenville gold mine project

The historic site generated precious metals during nearly 60 years of production between 1888 and 1954

Ximen Mining Corp -
The previous mine workings at Kenville are said to house an estimated 360,000 troy ounces

Ximen Mining Corp (CVE:XIM) updated Tuesday on progress at its Kenville gold mine project in British Columbia, where it is planning to carry out a diamond drilling program.

The mine has previously produced over 2,000kg of gold and 861kg of silver during nearly 60 years of production between 1888 and 1954.

And the previous mine workings are said to house an estimated 360,000 troy ounces. Previous drilling has provided evidence of the extension of the high‐grade vein structures to substantially higher quantities of gold on the adjacent claims.

Ximen said in a statement today: "Work at the Kenville Gold mine site is steadily progressing toward starting the new decline. The grounds and buildings have been cleaned and powered. Overburden stripping has been completed at the new portal site. The site is now ready to start breaking ground for the new portal."

In addition, Nelson Power has been on site recently and installed a new power pole near the new proposed portal site.

This will allow for a connection to power the ventilation air system, compressors and pumps making the operation completely electric, the group noted.

Ximen also told investors that updates for the water discharge permit have been received by the BC Ministry of Mines and Petroleum Resources and the BC Ministry of Environment.

Masse Environmental Consultants has been retained again this year to update the water baseline study and complete a full suite of water samples, it added.

Good water quality

Samples collected and analysed demonstrated good water quality and continuity and the discharge water is clean enough to drink, added Ximen.

"Over the years several water bottling companies have proposed and pursued the company for the propose of bottling the Kenville mines water discharge for commercial operations, The water quality more than exceeds BC Drinking Water Quality Guide lines, so I thought I would try it myself, it proved to be a fantastic way to quench my thirst," said Christopher Anderson, CEO at Ximen Mining.

The Kenville Gold mine near Nelson comes with surface and underground rights buildings and equipment as well as a permit for the construction of an underground decline.

Shares added 2.44% to C$0.47 in Toronto.
