Iplayco Corp Ltd (CVE:IPC), the play equipment maker, has appointed retired PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada partner Barry Macdonald to its board of directors.
Macdonald joins the board as an independent director with immediate effect, the company announced in a statement Tuesday. He has been named chair of the company's audit committee and will also serve on the compensation and corporate governance committees.
"We are delighted to welcome a corporate director of Barry Macdonald's caliber to Iplayco's Board," chairman David Banks said in the statement. "Barry's financial expertise and experience from serving on numerous boards makes him a truly excellent fit for our team. We anticipate valuable input from Barry on many aspects of Iplayco's business."
After spending 34 years at PwC, Macdonald now serves as the immediate past chair of the board of Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia. He is also on the boards of EasyPark, Truvera Trust Corporation, Frontfundr, and is a past chair of Valhalla International Games Studio.
In addition, Mcdonald chairs the Simon Fraser University (SFU) Beedie Business Dean's External Advisory Board as well as the SFU UniverCity Real Estate Trust. In the past, he has served on the board of non-profits such as Arts Umbrella and the Hong Kong Canada Business Association. While in Hong Kong, he was chairman of the city’s Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
