Ariana Resources PLC (LON:AAU) has revealed its latest drilling results from resource drilling at the producing Kiziltepe mine in Turkey.
Among the highlights of drilling testing for deeper extensions at Arzu South were 16 metres at 2.04 grams per tonne gold and 67 grams silver, and three metres at 6.25 grams and 129 grams silver.
The thinking is that secondary structures associated with Arzu South, in the hanging wall and footwall will be revealed in due course.
A revised resource estimates for Kiziltepe is due during the first quarter of 2020.
"These drilling results demonstrate the continuity of the Arzu South mineralised structure at depth which may form the basis for establishing an underground mineral resource,” said Ariana’s managing director Dr. Kerim Sener.
“The structure clearly extends to a depth of about 50 metres-to-100 metres beneath the bottom of the current open pit. Grades and widths of gold mineralisation encountered suggest that this structure has the potential to be developed via underground mining methods, although additional drill-testing is now warranted to determine the extent of this opportunity.”
