The cannabis firm said Thursday that it is adding cannabis executive Robert Dzisiak and finance veteran David Wilson as independent directors.
The two will provide “operational insight” and leverage their knowledge in the industry and financial sectors to help navigate the Vancouver-based company through its next phase of growth, the company said in a statement.
Dzisiak has more than 30 years of leadership and operational experience. He is the co-founder and managing director of Australian medical cannabis company Dona Blanca and has served on the board of more than 20 public companies.
Wilson is no stranger to Next Green Wave, having worked with the company on its initial public offering and brand acquisitions. The senior financial executive has over 25 years of experience as a strategic advisor and previously served as vice president at Mark Anthony Group, a diversified private beverage company.
Next Green Wave said it has granted 1.7 million stock options to the two new directors, exercisable at C$0.15 per share.
The company also said it has established a corporate governance, nominating and compensation committee led by the independent directors and implemented a formal whistle-blower policy, along with a code of business conduct and ethics.
Shares of Next Green Wave gained nearly 6% on Thursday morning in Canada at C$0.09 and slipped 4.3% over the counter at US$0.07.
