Memery Crystal partner Nick Davis is joining EXMceuticals as a new board advisor to the management team, the Vancouver-based cannabis firm said Monday.
Davis is the CEO and senior corporate partner at Memery Crystal, a London-based law firm with the leading cannabis practice in the UK.
A highly-in-demand speaker and expert in medicinal cannabis, Davis led the listing of medicinal cannabis investment firm Ananda Developments on the NEX Exchange Growth Market. Ananda was the second public listing of a cannabis vehicle in the UK.
Davis also acts as a trustee on a uveitis charity that aims to raise awareness on the debilitating eye condition. The charity, Olivia’s Vision, is aptly named after Davis’s daughter, who lives with uveitis. The condition is one of the many autoimmune diseases being targeted for medical cannabis research.
EXMceuticals CEO Jonathan Summers said the appointment would strengthen the firm’s expertise and credibility, calling it “clearly positive” news.
“With his impressive background in corporate finance, and cannabis speciality, Mr. Davis will work closely with the board to maximise the value of the company’s assets,” Summers said in a statement.
“His market leading knowledge of the European cannabis markets will be a considerable addition for EXM as we progress with Portugal, and we are naturally proud to have him on the team.”
EXMceuticals is focused on the sustainable cultivation of cannabis and hemp, and the production of high-grade cannabis and hemp ingredients for the pharmaceutical, therapeutic. nutraceutical and cosmetic industries.
