OTC Markets Group Inc (OTCQX:OTCM) has made corporate structure data for US bank holding companies available on its website in an effort to create additional transparency for investors.
The data includes corporate structure information for the more than 550 US banks trading on the OTCQX, OTCQB and Pink markets, as well as banks listed on the NYSE and Nasdaq.
Many banks are organized as bank holding companies, which can be comprised of multiple specialized entities in addition to an operating bank, OTC Markets explained in a press release Tuesday. The new corporate data gives investors a window into those other entities and includes a visual representation of corporate structure levels, entity names, locations and ownership percentages.
"The corporate structure enhancement is designed to meet the needs of investors seeking to understand the corporate structure, assets and business lines of the publicly traded security, as often it is not simply a single commercial bank," EVP of Market Data and Strategy Matthew Fuchs said in a press release. "OTC Markets Group continues to leverage our bank analytics platform, Qaravan, to provide robust new data sets for the sector and deliver a more efficient marketplace for banks."
Qaravan, which plays a part in OTC’s market data offerings, is designed to provide intuitive risk and performance analytics tailored to banking and finance industry professionals.
The data is available on bank profile pages on OTCMarkets.com and on CanariSM, the OTC Markets Groups' web-based compliance interface.
The OTC Markets Group operates the OTCQX Best Market, the OTCQB Venture Market and the Pink Open Market for 10,000 US and global securities.
The New York-based operator of financial markets has over 460 securities from 27 countries trading on its OTCQX Best Market.
