De Grey Mining Ltd (ASX:DEG) has appointed experienced mining executive Glenn Jardine to the role of managing director.
Jardine has 35 years’ experience in the industry and has been appointed due to his strong background in project management, development and operations.
He is a mining engineer with a Bachelor of Mining from the University of Queensland and is a Fellow of the AUSIMM.
Restructure of management
In addition to his technical skills, Jardine’s experience includes project manager and general manager of the Henty Gold Mine in Tasmania for Goldfields Ltd, project manager of the Emily Ann and Maggie Hays nickel mines and chief operating officer and managing director for Lion Ore Australia.
He has more recently been chief operating officer of Azure Minerals Limited.
As part of this restructure Simon Lill will remain as chairman, while Peter Hood becomes lead independent director of the board of directors.
Andy Beckwith will remain as technical director.

Jardine will begin his role on May 4.
