TraceSafe signed an exclusive contract with the Toronto Wolfpack Rugby League football team to help facilitate the club’s return to the field

Blockchain Holdings Ltd (CSE:BCX) announced Monday that its subsidiary TraceSafe Technologies Inc is teaming up with the Toronto Wolfpack Rugby League football team to help facilitate the club’s return to the field.

Under an exclusive contract for the upcoming 2020-2021 season, TraceSafe will supply its iMSafe wearable tracing products to staff and fans attending the club’s home games at Lamport Stadium in Toronto while social distancing restrictions are in place.

TraceSafe is a full suite of real-time location management services and contact tracing technology that is currently in use by governments and private enterprises to help manage the coronavirus outbreak.

The company’s iMSafe wristbands act as two-way radios can help to facilitate social distancing at large public gatherings without having to use mobile phones or other personal devices. No personal information is stored on wristbands and privacy is protected, according to TraceSafe.

iMSafe software transmits and receives signals from other wristbands in the area so that contacts can be logged and retrieved via local infrastructure. Data may be used to contact tracing in the event of virus exposure. Any data collected can be automatically deleted after a predetermined time – for example, 14 days after the event, following most public health guidelines.

The wristband also allows other location-based services like seating area guidance, access control and loyalty programs that can be personalized for individual users.

Blockchain Holdings’ executive chairman James Passin called the agreement a “testimony to the leading position of TraceSafe” in the wearable technology space.

"We are delighted to partner with Toronto Wolfpack to work on safely reopening Lamport Stadium and bringing back rugby to Toronto,” Passin said in a statement Monday.

"TraceSafe products & software will greatly improve our re-opening operating procedures for Lamport Stadium by adding a verifiable, easy to use and affordable method to assist with social distancing,” Toronto Wolfpack’s CEO Robert Hunter added.

“It is important that as we re-start our lives, this technology aids in re-opening stadiums, avoiding tracking apps loaded onto our mobile phones.”
