Auryn Resources Inc (TSE:AUG) (NYSEAMERICAN:AUG) has said it is excited to be getting back to work in Peru now that restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic have been lifted by the government.
The explorer outlined plans for its Curibaya and Sombrero projects, where it is primarily concentrating on the permitting process.
"We are looking forward to the second half of 2020, which will be busier as we resume exploration and permitting efforts at both our Curibaya and Sombrero projects," Ivan Bebek, the group's executive chairman said in a statement.

At Sombrero, where the group awaits a drill permit, Auryn's community teams are working with the Huanca Sancos community to deliver a positive outcome and to ensure support of Auryn's drill program at the Sombrero Main target area, it said.
"In addition, Auryn is working towards traditional community agreements with the Lucanamarca and San Jose de Huarcaya communities such that the Nioc and Good Lucky targets can be advanced while awaiting drill permits," the company added.
The firm also plans to advance its Ccello high sulphidation precious metal target in the southern region of the Sombrero district with a geophysical induced polarization (IP) survey over the two-by-two-kilometer alteration system.
Meanwhile, at Curibaya, upcoming plans consist of pre-drilling work, aiming to apply for a drill permit as soon as targeting is complete, said Auryn.
This pre-drill work includes improving the road access, due to previous flood damage, and establishing an exploration camp on site. Also being planned are 2,000 meters of channel sampling along both the defined vein corridors and the margins of the dome complexes, which Auryn believes are the source of the high-grade veins.
There will also be 30-line kilometers of ground-based geophysical induced polarization surveys, noted Auryn.
The junior explorer has a portfolio approach to asset acquisition and boasts six projects, including two flagships: the Committee Bay high-grade gold project in Nunavut and the Sombrero copper-gold project in southern Peru.
