TraceSafe Inc (CSE:TSF) has announced a new enhancement to its contact tracing wristbands that will extend both the battery life and connectivity range.

The wearable safety technology company is partnering with California’s Atmosic Technologies, which develops low-power wireless communications like the M2 system-on-chip solution based on Bluetooth 5.0 technology.

Atmosic’s M2 solution will be used in TraceSafe’s AllSafe wristbands to enable consistent device-to-device connectivity for contact tracing, the company told shareholders on Wednesday.

The M2 solution will allow AllSafe wristbands to have long-range connectivity of up to 100 metres and provide more than twice the battery life of competing products currently available. The extended battery life should reduce or eliminate the need to charge or replace batteries, according to TraceSafe.

"We are pleased our AllSafe system will play an important role in helping businesses privately track and notify anyone wearing our wristband who may have come into close contact with an attendee later diagnosed with COVID-19," said Dennis Kwan, CEO of TraceSafe Technologies Inc.

"Our AllSafe system is a complete, device-to-cloud product that gives businesses the turn-key solution they need to help ensure the safety of their customers during this critical time."

The technology is marketed towards businesses and organizations to help assist a safe return to normal operations amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

"As businesses and venue managers grapple with the challenges of COVID-19, the Atmosic team is committed to working with a wide array of customers looking to deliver products that enable contact tracing, including wearables, sensors and hubs,” said David Su, CEO, Atmosic Technologies.

The 'forever battery' connectivity can help to improve the user experience and reduce management's maintenance and cost overhead, Su added.

TraceSafe boasts a full suite of real-time location management services and contact tracing solutions enabled through advanced, low-power bluetooth beacons and enterprise cloud management.
