Blackrock Gold Corp (CVE:BRC) said it has appointed an institutional sales and corporate finance professional, Daniel Vickerman as an independent director.
Vickerman has 25 years' experience in the financial industry and was formerly the managing director, head of UK for Beacon Securities UK and former managing director, head of UK for Edgecrest Capital. He also spent over four years at a London based Alternative asset manager with over $400 million assets under management (AUM), trading commodities and FX.
"Blackrock is at a turning point and as a company grows, so too do the responsibilities of a board," Andrew Pollard, the mining group's chief executive said in a statement.

"We are delighted to attract someone of Dan’s caliber to our team at this juncture. His connections to capital and within industry are undeniable and we look forward to his contribution as he joins us on this journey," Pollard added.
Vickerman has extensive experience working with mining firms, raising over $1billion for private and listed companies, Blackrock Gold also noted.
The firm is focused on epithermal gold and silver projects along the established Northern Nevada Rift in north-central Nevada, and the Walker Lane trend in western Nevada.
Shares added 5.3% in Toronto to C$1.39.
