Alto Metals Ltd - Alto Metals grows new Orion lode with further drilling results extending strike over 300 metres
Mineralisation at Orion remains open along strike, down dip, and down plunge

Alto Metals Ltd (ASX:AME) has received further shallow high-grade gold results from Orion discovery which extend the mineralised footprint of Lord Nelson deposit within the Sandstone Gold Project in WA to more than 1-kilometre.

Results of up to 12 metres at 4.8 g/t from 84 metres have been received from a further 11 reverse circulation (RC) holes for 2,132 metres at the new Orion lode discovery, 200 metres south of the Lord Nelson pit, as well as beneath the pit.

The step-out results from Orion Lode also include 4 metres at 4.1 g/t from 28 metres with another hole returning 12 metres at 1.2 g/t from 68 metres and 8 metres at 1.3 g/t from 84 metres.

Infill drilling beneath the Lord Nelson pit returned 8 metres at 4.1 g/t from 208 metres.

Alto managing director Matthew Bowles said: “These latest results highlight the continuity of shallow, high-grade mineralisation at the new Orion Lode.

“And the presence of the high-grade shoot within a much larger mineralised envelope, up to 50 metres thick, indicates the presence of a large gold mineralised system.

“We are excited by what we are seeing at Lord Nelson and, with the level of drilling and exploration activity planned to increase in the coming weeks, shareholders can look forward to more results as we test a number of possible Lord Nelson repeat lodes along the 3-kilometre-long Lords’ corridor”

A total of about 5,500 metres of RC drilling of the planned 10,000-metre program has now been completed since drilling commenced in early July, with another 2,000 metres expected to start in the coming weeks.

The company’s comprehensive exploration program is testing the entire 3-kilometre Lords’ Corridor and a number of regional targets within the 800 square kilometres Sandstone Gold Project.

The 8-metre intersection has confirms the continuity of previous results, which include:

  • 16 metres at 5.2 g/t from 240 metres, including 3 metres at 13.5 g/t from 240 metres;
  • 17 metres at 3.5 g/t from 200 metres, including 4 metres at 11.6 g/t from 211 metres; and
  • 28 metres at 3.1 g/t from 228 metres, including 12 metres at 5 g/t from 244 metres.

Lords’ Corridor drilling

The Orion Lode is the first new gold lode discovered, south of the Lord Nelson pit within the Lords’ corridor; which extends over 3 kilometres in a NNW/SSE direction, with the Lord Nelson deposit at the north and the Lord Henry deposit to the south.

A 2,000-metre wide-spaced (80x80 metres) RC drilling program is expected to begin in the coming weeks to test multiple potential Lord Nelson repeats along the Lords’ Corridor, and extensions of the Orion Lode.

The remaining 2,500 metres of the planned program and future exploration is expected to include:

  • Continuing testing of additional repeat lode targets along the Lord’s Corridor;
  • Additional infill and extension drilling both along strike and at depth at Lord Nelson; and
  • Regional targets along the Edale Shear, including the Chance prospect.
