ioneer Ltd (ASX:INR) has confirmed the timeline for its Rhyolite Ridge Lithium-Boron Project in Nevada, aiming to be permitted and ready to begin construction as early as quarter two 2021.
A recent media article reported that an environmental group opposed to the project has filed a complaint concerning ioneer's statements around its objectives for timing of permitting and construction.
This complaint is without basis and the company remains committed to achieving its stated objectives around the timing of the project.
Plan of operations accepted
On 31 August 2020, ioneer announced that the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) had deemed its plan of operations acceptable and complete - marking a major milestone toward the completion of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process.
ioneer continues to follow regulatory processes that strictly govern its environmental management and has maintained regular contact with relevant authorities at both the state and federal levels, underlining its commitment to fully comply with necessary permitting processes.
Critical source of materials
The company’s mission is to become a responsible and profitable producer of the materials necessary for a sustainable future.
Rhyolite Ridge is the only lithium-boron project in North America and one of only two known such deposits in the world.
As such, it is well-positioned to become a critical, US-based source of the materials essential for EVs and renewable energy sources as part of a global push to a lower carbon future.
