Predictiv AI Inc (CVE:PAI) (OTCMKTS:INOTF) told shareholders Wednesday that interest is building for its ThermalPass sensor-based temperature screening system.

The company said that it had received 62 orders for ThermalPass just seven weeks since it first launched the unit, with 34 orders being placed in the last two weeks alone.

Customers for the 34 units include prisons and aboriginal communities in Canada as well as hospitals and public schools in the US, according to a release.

ThermalPass was developed to lessen the spread of COVID-19 in high-traffic locations by using thermal medical grade sensors to take 1,200 temperature readings per second, which allows for individual privacy and adherence to social distancing protocols. The system allows for 60 people per minute to pass through and requires no recalibrations once set up, with assembly and disassembly expected to take less than 10 minutes.

Predictiv AI told investors that it is working to expand the sales pipeline to other markets including retail, financial institutions, professional sports teams and cruise lines.

"We are incredibly pleased with the early-stage orders from companies across a number of different industries that have been gravitating to ThermalPass, preferring our distinctive solution over the competition," said Michael Lende, CEO of Predictiv AI in a statement.

"We view a significant proportion of these sales as "foundational" orders from substantial ecosystem companies; as such, we see strong potential to receive large batch orders from these same customers in 1Q 2021 and beyond."

Shares of the Toronto-based company were trading 14.3% higher in Canada at the midday mark Wednesday at C$0.20 and 19.5% over the counter at nearly US$0.16.
