Predictiv AI Inc (CVE:PAI) (OTCMKTS:INOTF) announced it had sold multiple units of its ThermalPass temperature detection device to the First Nations Innus of Ekuanitshit community.

ThermalPass instantly screens for higher-than-normal body temperatures with an accuracy of 0.36 degrees Fahrenheit, thus identifying possible carriers of COVID-19.

The units will be placed in the group’s school, health centre, town hall and grocery store as part of a series of health and safety protocols being rolled out in the Quebec-based community.

The sale was handled by KleinCity Group, the exclusive reseller for ThermalPass in Quebec and Atlantic Canada, where the aboriginal communities represent a large emerging sales channel that is now being pursued, Predictiv AI told shareholders.

"Indigenous communities, particularly in remote areas, face unique circumstances and have distinct needs in managing through the pandemic,” Predictiv AI CEO Michael Lende said in a statement.

“This dynamic and proud community is leading by example and implementing as many precautionary measures as possible, such as the ThermalPass, to help keep their families, friends, and neighbours safe.”

Innus of Ekuanitshit chief Jean-Charles Piétacho said that ensuring the health and safety of the community is his “highest concern.”

"At this time with the pandemic, we view the ThermalPass as absolutely essential when planning to manage risk and help prevent the spread of the virus,” Piétacho said.
