Benchmark Metals Inc (CVE:BNCH) (OTCQB:CYRTF) has continued to report positive drill assays from the AGB zone at its flagship Lawyers gold-silver project, which it said augurs well for a first bulk tonnage resource estimate earmarked for the first quarter this year.

As reported earlier this month, 79 holes were sunk at the zone in British Columbia last year, and results continue to show both high grade and bulk tonnage mineralization. AGB now extends for over 650 metres (m) strike length and to 270m vertical depth and remains open.

"The AGB zone continues to yield exceptional results of high-grade mineralization within broader envelopes of mineralization, that essentially begin at surface," said Benchmark CEO John Williamson in a statement on Wednesday.

"These results at AGB continue to add gold and silver ounces and expand the known mineralization, positively impacting our definition of the resource. The AGB zone is yielding higher grades and expanding beyond initial interpretation, we anticipate that this area will continue adding gold-silver ounces as new results are received over the coming weeks," Williamson added.

Among the latest dill highlights was one hole, which returned an upper zone of 14m at a grade of 2.10 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 622.57 g/t silver, Benchmark reported. That intercept included 1.54m of 17.96 g/t gold and 5,216.68 g/t silver and a lower zone of 9.66m of 3.42 g/t gold and 287.79 g/t silver.

Notably, Benchmark said the AGB zone, compared to the Cliff Creek or Dukes Ridge zones, houses much higher silver values, with nine intervals above 300 g/t silver.

The forthcoming maiden global resource estimate will cover the Cliff Creek, Dukes Ridge and AGB zones.

Benchmark’s Lawyers project lies[ in the prolific Golden Horseshoe of northern British Columbia, Canada.
