Mandalay Resources (TSE:MND) posted record gold and antimony sales in the third quarter from its mines in Chile and Australia.
The company produced 14,442 ounces of gold, 966 tonnes antimony and 733,659 ounces of silver in the three months to September 30. This is the equivalent of 33,452 ounces of gold.
A record 8,831 ounces of gold were unearthed from Costerfield, in central Victoria, which was also responsible for all Mandalay’s antimony output, while Cerro Bayo, in Chile, turned up 5,611 ounces of gold and all the company’s silver.
Chief executive Brad Mills said: "Mandalay continued its strong operating performance in the third quarter of 2013.
“Costerfield produced and sold record amounts of gold and antimony during the quarter.
“The higher production is due to greater tonnage mined and processed at excellent grades of both gold and antimony.
“Cerro Bayo has performed according to our expectations, given the disruptions associated with the fatality experienced in the quarter. Cerro Bayo delivered record silver sales, catching up on shipping delays experienced in the first quarter."
